Dirty, filthy, underhanded American Gov't strikes again.
24 Dec 2001
Once again this scum sucking gov't tries to use people. We must remember that Ali's decision is his own and that he may feel it is a good way to promote his religion but we must also remember that he is punch drunk and has brain damage. He refused to participate in Viet Nam murders but is supporting these murders. This can be the only reason.

Ex-boxing champ Ali to become pitchman to Muslims on Afghan war

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has agreed to star in a Hollywood-produced advertising campaign, designed to explain America and the war in Afghanistan to the Muslim world, the New York Times reported.

Jack Valenti, president of the Motion Picture Association of America, which oversees the ad hoc public relations effort dubbed Hollywood 9/11, told the Times that Ali has tentatively agreed to do a one-minute public service announcement designed for broadcast in several translations over networks with clout in the Middle East, such as regional broadcaster Al Jazeera and the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation in Beirut.

Entertainment industry executives believe that Ali has special credibility with an audience believed to be deeply suspicious of the United States because of his conversion to Islam in the 1960's and his refusal to serve in the US-led war against Vietnam when drafted, which cost him his world heavyweight boxing title.

"Here is a guy who was wrung dry when he refused to serve. He has since undergone a glorious redemption and therefore he's credible," Valenti told the Times.
