NJ-IMC , Barricada Collective, and One People's Project are being discredited
13 Jan 2002

There is an online attempt to tarnish the reputation of Independent Media Center (New Jersey), the Barricada Collective (Boston), and One People's Project (Ohio) that is currently taking place over the IMC network. Throughout a number of IMC sites, the names of "Anarch-Anon", "Against All Fascists", and "FREE PALESTINE" claimed that these activist groups, who had provided objective information regarding the events in York, PA on Saturday, support the Jewish Defense League (JDL). In the postings entitled NEW JERSEY IMC RACISTS AND FASCISTS ENDORSE JEWISH DEFENSE LEAGUE and “Anarchists,” Jewish Fascists Join Forces
there is a blatant attempt to discredit and undermine anti-fascist resistance by using possible infiltration mechanisms.

In the case of NJ-IMC, the questionable paragraph is as follows, with commentary in parentheses:

"Anti-Racist/anti-facists New Jersey residents plant to protest the meeting and attend a near by Unity gathering which will celebrate racial diversity and humanity. (note, a period implies in engligh a new sentence) Other groups which plant to attend the counter demonstration include Anti-Racist Action from Columbus, Baltimore, Towson, East Baltimore, DC and Philadelphia, The One People's Project, Yellow Overalls, Barricada Collective, the Jewish Defense League, Claustrophobia, Baltimore Anti-Fascist Response Network, and Campaign for Humanity."
(The period between those two sentances was there so we could talk about other groups which are going to be present however may or may not be affiliated with the Anti-Racist/Anti-Fascists groups.)

NJ-IMC did not say anything about friends or enemies in the article. Simply talking about the groups who were going to counter protest. The reason why the JDL's web site is linked is for the same reason why most of the other groups are linked is that it was important so an individual could find out more information to said group. W also included the WCOTC and the Nat All's web sites, who's policies we do not personally support, however the links are there so you can become educated about who these people are.
