Mainstream and alt media in Boston is looking for freegans to interview for news stories. |
Freegan.info, a group and website promoting freeganism, has gotten two media requests lately from journalists in Boston who want to find local freegans to interview.
One is a student radio journalist at Boston University, who will be producing a segment for the campus radio station. The other comes from WHDH, NBC Boston.
If you or someone you know would like to be a part of either or both of these stories, please contact Adam of Freegan.info at (201) 928-2831 or by emailing adam (at) freegan.info and we will put you in touch with the reporters.
Background on freeganism:
Freeganism is a lifestyle based around adapting practical strategies to minimize personal consumer impact, cut financial support for the capitalist system that is destroying the earth and human and animal lives, and create new methods for people to survive and thrive based on sharing, mutual aid, social responsibility, and ecological concern. Freegan practices include dumpster diving for food, clothing, funiture, etc., squatting buildings, guerilla gardening, train hopping, and more. If you aren't familiar with freeganism, visit http://freegan.info. Or for a quick definition of freeganism, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeganism |

Please Don't Feed the Trolls
Wikipedia defines an Internet Troll as: "An Internet troll is either a person who sends messages on the Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message sent by such a person." Boston IMC strives to provide both a grassroots media resource as well as a forum for people to contribute to a meaningful discussion about local issues. Please, when posting comments, be respectful of others and ignore those trying to interrupt or discourage meaningful discourse. Thank you.

I'm kinda free- but not that free.
My friend Nat is a dumpster diver, I give props to him!
I still though waste food in front of him at lunch.
(I try to manage my weight. The food industry's idea of portion size is let's get up to a size 12 in 2 months)
Frig you damn food courts! I don't have time to pack a lunch! |
