Howard Zinn and Rev. Hagler speak out against the war -- 2/27
by International Socialist Review
15 Feb 2002
A Forum sponsored by the International Socialist Review with Howard Zinn, Diane Dujon, Rev. Graylan Hagler and Ahmed Shawki.
"Voices of opposition to Washington's war drive are more important than ever. Tha Bush administration is asking for $48 billion in additional funding for the pentagon, on top of billions more in spending on the war in Afghanistan. Top U.S. officials have made it clear that they want to expand the 'war on terrorism' into other countries for years to come.
"Meanwhile, we see severe restrictions on civil liberties taking place at home and cuts in essential social programs in the face of a recession and a $1.35 trillion tax cut that largely benefits the rich. The ISR anti-war speaking tour is bringing together voices of opposition and hope around the country this spring. We encourage you to participate in these urgent discussions." --Howard Zinn and David Barsamian
