Revolt is a training and skill-sharing based organization made up of a collective of experienced trainers who have skills and are willing to share them. Revolt is based on going to the people and adapting skills and trainings for your given cause to advance peace and social justice for all. Our trainings are open to all people and are funded by donation. We do not take government or corporate money, grants, or nonprofit directed money for specific causes or campaigns. We are funded by the people and the grass-roots and will not take more than $100.00 dollars from an individual. We have come to believe that if the people do not want it they will not fund it. Rather than asking you to come to us in the woods or in an office, we come to you on your streets to prepare you, not in a foreign in environment, but in one that you are familiar with. We stress training in urban areas but of course are not restricted to them. Our trainings are void of any political message or agenda and we will never do training strictly for a campaign or cause only. There are too many instances when trainers throw a great training, but also push their campaigns or their personal beliefs on others. We try to step back from that and speak specifically on tactics, strategies, and the need for revolt. If you want to learn about an issue or social movement, we suggest you attend an organization’s meeting on the given topic you are interested in. Our trainings are for the public; what you do with these skills is your business not ours. We just ask you be safe and make sure you are respectful to all life.

Food Not Bombs will be serving food.

Re: Climbing and Blockades Training: RSVP!

yeah, the masses are demanding climbing trainings.

this is exactly the kind of self-serving elitist bullshit that turns most people off to anarchist politics- it's not really practical. Do you all plan on becoming spidermen and spiderwomen after all this?

i would suggest that operation over stick to interactive actions that engage the community. the bu/biolab stuff is great. besides, free and/or cheap rappelling lessons are easily available if you look for them and it's probably a good idea to keep that shit low key. after this training the pigs will have a list of of all the spiderpeople to investigate when some spectacular climbing event occurs.

just an opinion.

these are direct action trainings. they're not intended to "engage the community", they're inteded to train people in direct action tactics.

this doesn't really have much to do with anarchist politics either- it's for anyone who wants to learn how to do a good banner drop, or how blockades work. quite a few people who are interested in direct action have been invited, and they're not all anarchists. if you're not interested in learning how to climb or in doing blockades, don't come.

besides, climbing is fun as hell. i agree that anarchists are often elitist, but i don't see how teaching people climbing skills has anything to do with that. it's practical for certain actions, and it's really fun.
Only the working class can lead the way out of the world social crisis.

The petit-bourgeoisie, a weak and vaccilating class, hates the oppressor but fears the oppressed. These wayward sons and daughters of the capitalists will renounce their radical postures and return to moneybags's right hand at the first shot of the great class battles to come.

honestly, I have never seen anything like the volume of worthless criticism in the comments section on any other radical forum like I see on Boston Indymedia.
Sheeessh.. operation: over is doing wonderful stuff; climbing is fun and useful, and not only children of the bourgeoisie do it, but also children of the proletariat (they usually have to join the military to be taught how to do it).. what is wrong with a climbing seminar? Have we really gotten to the point where the state will track down every attendee at every training if somebody somewhere does something vaguely illegal (there is no signin or nametaking at this event)? Come on, be realistic! Especially one which is willing to teach skills to folks for free, if necessary.
Op: over, keep up the excellent work! And ignore these people who just want to shoot down every creative, engaging, and effective thing y'all do.
The masses DO demand climbing trainings. And medical trainings, mechanical trainings, lifeguard trainings, graphic design trainings, counselling trainings, firearms safety trainings, cooking classes, carpentry apprenticeships, plumbing seminars...
Boston IMC has more than its share of trolls
08 Mar 2006
I really don't know why, but Boston IMC has always had more than its share of trolls and they often pretend to be activists. In fact, some are delusional nutcases, some are police officers, and some are just people with no-lives. Most of the B.S. comments are not by radicals.

not sure if it's a share of trolls or just one or two trolls pretending to be many...
"yo" could be right.

Is he right, FLIPSIDE?

I almost ALWAYS post as Flipside.
Re: Climbing and Blockades Training: RSVP!

can we please not make every article about flipside? I'm getting kind of tired about this...

All I know is that when Flipside's around, the trolling skyrockets!! Coincidence?! I don't think so...
