This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, China Radio International, Radio Havana Cuba, and the Voice of Russia.
From NETHERLANDS- On International Womens Day, the UN released a report warning that women around the world are being denied effective representation, because of the low numbers of female politicians, judges, and employers. The World Bank has approved a short term aid package for Palestine to make up for the money being withheld by the Israel and the US- a UN official describes the effect the lack of money in Palestine will have on the population.
From CHINA- In Palestine, as Hamas comes into power, the President Abbas has been stripped of some of his powers. The head of the IAEA says he is still confident that a diplomatic solution will be found over Iran's nuclear development, while both the Iranian and US leaders escalated threats. Protesters marched on the US Embassy in the Philippines protesting sexual abuse committed by US military stationed there. Terrorist attacks on a holy city in India have raised fears of spreading violence between Hindus and Muslims.
From CUBA- Hindu priests performed a purification ceremony at a shrine to Mahatma Ghandi following a visit by George Bush and company. The British government has admitted for the first time that CIA aircraft carrying detainees on their way to torture landed at British military airfields. More than 8000 members of the voluntary US military force have deserted since the invasion of Iraq. The director of the Baghdad morgue has fled Iraq following his report that more than 7000 people have been killed by death squads in recent months.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via <http://www.kzyx.org >
There are several other streams that work better- < http://www.freakradio.org >Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am (PST)
The Shortwave Report may be downloaded as a podcast from < http://www.radio4all.net >

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
