Are the Senate Democrats too Afraid to Push Back GOP on Bush Crimes?
14 Mar 2006
Despite lip service and empty rhetoric from the Democrats, not one Senator has come to the aid of Senator Feingold in his attempt to censure Bush for the crimes he has admitted, and for his flagrant violations of the Constitution.

Senator Russ Feingold Boldly Leads Push for Censure of Bush.

Are the Senate Democrats too afraid to push back GOP on Bush crimes?

Senator Russ Feingold was the ONLY senator to vote against the first Patriot Act shortly after 9/11. He remains a brave and noble voice in the Senate, but for now a lonely one.

At this moment he is trying to move a formal Censure process ahead. The Censure process would give the President a stern and formal disapproval by Congress.

Based on the number of crimes to which Bush has admitted (no felatio has been mentioned,) it seems that impeachment proceedings should already be in order. If censure is the most potent means at the moment for putting the Bush administration on the record as having violated the law and the Constitution, then it seems perfectly reasonable, if not a duty to proceed with the censure process.

Not one single Democrat has stood alongside Feingold - not one. The Democrats have simply rolled over and now play dead. Why vote Democrat? There really doesn't seem to be any difference right now.

Both political parties have serious flaws. However, right now it's obvious that the Republicans are not only incompetent, but dangerous because they are power hungry and will stop at nothing to gain power - including flagrantly breaking the law and violating the Constitution. Their tactics routinely involve bullying and intimidation.

Retired Supreme Justice Sandra Day O'Connor recently said on NPR she fears that the GOP's treatment of the Judiciary is leading this country toward dictatorship. A retired Supreme Court Justice making an observation like that is terrifying. The Americans need to be warned about what is happening to their country under the Bush regime.

Lately, the Bush administration is being attacked for incompetence from the Right, the Middle, and the Left. That tells me he's not just losing his base, he's losing the support of his country. Well, except for the Senate, you know the Millionaire's Club, where Bush still has the support of the Democratic sheep. I wonder: what exactly is their payoff? You know everyone has a price. I'd like to know if they're on the GOP payroll - how much is a good deal nowadays?

Right now, Senator Russ Feingold is the ONLY member of the Senate who is willing to do the right thing. He is willing to stand on the Senate floor without any help, without any Democratic support, and face down the attacks and intimidation that the GOP is throwing at him, including the ever-loveable D i c k Cheney.

Support Senator Russ Feingold - he's standing up to GOP excesses, power grabs, and their crimes. Not one Democratic Senator is assisting him. Every single Democratic Senator needs to be on record for lying down and letting the GOP steamroller flatten them.

Senator Russ Feingold has no intention of taking the attacks from the GOP lying down.
Call the Democratic Senators and give them a piece of your mind. Tell them that you think they're worse than the GOP because at least the GOP isn't pretending to be the liberal, progressive party for America.

Forty-three Senators are cowering under their desks while the brave Senator from the great state of Wisconsin takes on the whole GOP machine by himself.

We are not going to let him fight these battles alone. Party lines mean nothing when our Republic is threatened just like Retired Justice O'Connor stated.

Senator Feingold is simply stating what's on every American's mind - why are we letting the President and the power-hungry GOP attack machine run wild over our country?
