Israeli "Refusnik" on a Speaking Tour in Boston
23 Apr 2002
More than 400 Israeli officers have signed the Courage to Refuse declaration. Guy Grossman, Lieutenant (Reserves) Israel Defense Forces, and one of the founders of Ometz Le’Sarev – The Courage to Refuse, comes to boston on a speaking tour.
More than 400 Israeli officers have signed the Courage to Refuse declaration:

We, reserve combat officers and soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, who were raised upon the principles of Zionism, sacrifice and giving to the people of Israel and to the State of Israel.
We shall not continue to fight beyond the 1967 borders in order to dominate, expel, starve, and humiliate an entire people.
We shall continue serving in the Israel Defense Forces in any mission that serves Israel’s defense.

Guy Grossman, a lieutenant in an elite paratrooper unit and a graduate student in philosophy, will speak about his personal journey toward refusal and his own experiences with the occupation. At the same time he provides an optimistic voice of hope that a small, brave group can make principled choices and open new paths to peace.
