Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect" made its grand finale appearance on Friday night. |
The popular show "Politically Incorrect" is now officially part of TV history as of friday, June 28th, 2002. The show, which aired from 1993 to 2002 on ABC (after switching from Comedy Central in '95), was a unique program that dealt with issues deemed "controversial" by the mainstream networks. So controversial in fact that it has now been canceled due to Bill Maher's generally radical leftwing political views on many current issues that the mainstream media tends to voraciously disagree with and shy away from (due to corporate interests/corporate governance).
This is seen by many as a blatant curtailing of constitutional first amendment rights and civil liberties by the corporate media and serves as further proof that television is becoming more and more homogenized into a politically-correct-all-the-time-applepie-britneyspears-always-patriotic-pro-war-pepsi-nike-michaeljordan-gameshow representation of our world and its increasingly corporatized cultures.
Real political debate about REAL issues is continually being shut out of commercial TV and there's no end in sight. "Politically Incorrect" was the only legitamite talk show on the air which dealt with the scary truth in a responsible, truly intellectual, ADULT manner, and has now been systematically censored in order to further homogenize the airwaves. The First Amendment is in great danger in the Neo-Colonial States of America.
Is the so-called "Patriot Act" really an introduction to a new form of enslavement for the general population? Many believe this to be the case and that it'll continue to get worse.
The show will live on in the minds and hearts of its core fans, which rank in the millions, and as for Bill Maher himself...well, in all likelihood, he ain't goin' nowhere...we'll run into him again.
God Bless ya Bill |

i would hardly consider bill maher to be radical.
he is a liberal, psuedo-progressive. he is for some things that might be desirable but mostly he likes things of Fox just right.
don't kid yourself...
bill is radical like i am a virgin...
as far as the ending of his show, maybe he is hardly cunning or insightful enough to keep the viewers interested. i cannot answer that cause i don't work for fox.
he is basically toting the liberal line though, doesn;t vear too far from it.
he is pretty stupid too. even liberals should be ashamed. |

I don't agree with everything that Bill says or does, but I do have a lot of respect for him. He didn't take the crap that Fox kept dishing at him. Sure, he may have given in here and there, but he pushed back too. That says a lot, in my opinion. Anyways, he also had Michael Moore on his show on his last date, and Michael Moore is a definite Progressive Radical. Peace Out. |

Bill Maher: Anti-Arab Racist |
by Joseph Anderson, Berkeley, CA (No verified email address) |

Bill Maher thought that being "politically incorrect" meant that he was free to give his almost (for a while) every other nightly dose of his insistent anti-Arab racism and his arrogant, chauvinistic, but ignorant, Arab culture bashing--and even to stereotype the culture of other people of color. Now he *knows* what "politically incorrect" *really* means. And that lesson was given to him by white men in power, who were 'defending' the American democratic values (like "free speech" and unregimented opinion) they claimed that bin Laden was out to destroy. "Politically incorrect" means that you don't too-publicly criticize, on their media, white men in power, when they want to have a war, or when there is anything else they really want to do.
As far as being "radical" or "leftist", naive Libertarians like Maher may be liberal on drugs, but they are practically laissez faire capitalists, believing in the 'wisdom' of the unrestrained corporate market. |

Bill Maher.... Capitalist (hypocrite) |

For anyone to see value in "STRICTLY" leftwing viewpoints is truly intellectual indeed. Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum said "What I said it means... is what it means...nothing more and nothing less!" I know, I know...tell me what a poor paraphrase that is...that's much more important then the point..isn't it?
Which is exactly what Bill Maher and his fans were all about these past 7 years.
The man was there for the money...period. And "that" was the only intelligent thing in him.
The phoney laughs of support from "HIS" audience, usually for a blunder, or to cover up any point a right winger guest may have been trying to make, was the real "hook" of the show....and the reason, btw, intelligent people didn't feel threatened enough to ever bother watching an entire half hour.
When you meet a Bill Maher fan for the first time, you know all you'll ever have to know about them.
Good luck with your memoirs Bill....you did "what again" with your life?
