NPR's Memory Hole - Spin for the New World Order
25 Jul 2002
The report, sounding strangely like PR spin from corporado central or damage control for the New World Order, also informed listeners that news stories linking the Bush Administration’s so-called “War on Terrorism” to Big Oil’s ongoing quest for more product were aired mainly in Europe.
NPR’s Memory Hole

National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” listeners got a curious wake-up call this AM when it was reported that none of Big Oil’s slippery players had any interest in the Afghan pipeline route that would deliver one of the world’s richest petro reserves to lucrative Asian markets. The report, sounding strangely like PR spin from corporado central or damage control for the New World Order, also informed listeners that news stories linking the Bush Administration’s so-called “War on Terrorism” to Big Oil’s ongoing quest for more product were aired mainly in Europe. Indymedia readers are well aware that such features were run here as early as October and more recently as well as elsewhere in the U.S. alternative media . One of the most damning reports dated May 15 from France http://www.nyc.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=28284&group=webcast > completely refutes the NPR claim of corporate disinterest in the Afghan pipeline. One wonders if NPR editors live in the same world as the rest of us or if something more sinister is going down in the front office.
