indymedia lacking in lgbtq news.

open question, maybe for discussion about the lack of lgbtq news in boston's indymedia.
why hasn't indymedia included any info about the recent superDOMA legislation and actions?
this was the biggest news for lgbtq communities in mass all year!

Doubtless there should be more LGBT news, as well as news on many other topics, on Indy Media. The basic problem is that we are a really small group of volunteers without the time to cover everything significant in the Boston area. We tend to cover what most interests us personally. Is it a problem that none of us are personally interested enough to persue LGBT issues? Quite possibly. It's also a matter of what we have time to go to. I have actually thought of going to some of the events related to the recent anti-gay marriage thing, but as I recall I had to work when they were happening.

Keep in mind though that Indy Media is open-publishing. If you think there's a major hole in our coverage, you should feel free to do an article on it yourself and post it on the newswire. Then send an e-mail to our editorial list (boston-editorial (at) lists.indymedia.org I think) letting us know about it. We'll try to take a look at it and if it fits our criteria (reasonably well written progressive news with some local connection that's not a reprint from somewhere else), we'll probably highlight in the center column. You don't have to come to meetings to report for us. About half the stuff in the center column is by people who don't come to meetings.
Yeah!

Do it yourself! Obviously, you know how to publish to the newswire... Next time, try publishing a story rather than a gripe.

Sheesh!
