Internment Camps In USA? Know The Facts
26 Aug 2002
Modified: 27 Aug 2002
Internment Camps are not just "black helicopter" conspiracy theory (even though they get plenty of attention in that arena).
Copy and paste this note to others.

It's important that the subject of internment camps in the context of homeland (in)security be brought to the light. Pursuant to that, allow me to steer you towards some articles that are worth your valuable and limited reading time.

Think internment camps are an impossibility in "free" America? Think again. Back in 1995, you could see this example (as reported in the New York Times):

Ritt Goldstein wrote an article back on July 15, 2002 for the Sydney Morning Herald that was forwarded around to major media in the United States, and it had the DIRECT impact of ultimately putting pressure of the Bush Admin (TIPS is going to go somewhat underground and will not likely have "as much" use of folks that have access to the inside of houses/appartments -- but it's still a vile program). That article is located here:

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/07/14/1026185141232.html

He wrote another article for SMH, published Aug. 23:

The unedited version, presumably posted by Ritt directly can be seen here:

http://portland.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=18388&group=webcast

And the one in the Sydney Morning Herald:

"The government in the shadows"
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/08/22/1029114163381.html

Finally, for historical context, Douglas Valentine has been writing some points of view worth looking at (don't agree with all that he notes but still chuck full of opinion and facts):

His most recent:

And a very large series:

http://www.counterpunch.org/homeland1.html

The Valentine articles will give you considerable context.

These articles are also worth looking at:

More U.S. Concentration Camp Info
27 Aug 2002
One only need read the government's own declassified documents for proof. The code names for the plans are "Operation Garden Plot" and "Operation Cable Splicer". These plans were most recently implemented during the riots in Los Angeles following the whitewash of Rodney King's beating, and the Seattle WTO protests of 1999.

Here is a list of the concentration camps:

Here is a description of Operation Garden Plot, complete with links to government documents on aspects of the plan:
http://cryptome.org/garden-plot.htm

Excerpts from above:

' If the "detainee" should produce a writ of habeas corpus issued by a state court, thereby demanding ones day in court, the Army will "respectfully reply that the prisoner is being held by authority of the United States." '

' Training under FM 19-15/Garden Plot must be "continuous" and must "develop personnel who are able to perform distasteful and dangerous duties with discipline and objectivity." Dangerous to the local citizenry given that "every member of the control force must be trained to use his weapon and special equipment (including) riot batons, riot control agent dispersers and CS grenades, grenade launchers, shotguns, sniper rifles, cameras, portable videotape recorders, portable public address systems, night illumination devices, firefighting apparatus, grappling hooks, ladders, ropes, bulldozers, Army aircraft, armored personnel carriers, and roadblock and barricade materials."
