Money for AIDS, Not for War!

Manchester NH Protest

Saturday, Sept. 14

12:00 noon (Veterans Park / Elm Street)

A coalition of AIDS Activist, Anti-War and Religious activists will be holding a demonstration and rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Saturday, Sept 14th. The rally will oppose the AIDS-phobic, anti-gay, racist and anti-war editorial policies of the notorious newspaper, the Manchester Union-Leader.

This hateful newspaper for years has denounced gay activists, the civil rights movement (going all the way back to the 1960's up until the present moment) and is closely allied with the most backward right-wing war policies.

The Union-Leader sets the boundaries for what most politicians and public figures in New Hampshire can say. It has the effect of silencing most progressive movements in New Hampshire. It recently endorsed quarantine for people with AIDS and, despite requests from HIV health workers in the state, no public health official has been willing to even write a letter to the Union-Leader about a recent July 9th editorial condemning gay men and stating that quarantining would have been a good idea in the 1980's.

But it can't silence the people!! Join hundreds of people who are willing to send a message to the Union-Leader, their favorite presidential candidate, Pat Buchanan, and their racist, anti-gay, pro-war editorial staff.
