September 22 protest planned to oust Bernard Law at Cathedral in south end (english)
11 Sep 2002
As the Cardinal fails to feel good to layity in his holding onto power hungrily, while at the expense of charitable donations and so much more, protesters have planned a tactic that employs those disempowered by his arrogance.

In Boston today Bernard Cardinal Law will say a mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston's south end. Protesters normaly there each and every suday since January will be there as well. The tone albeit respectful of the day is strong and adamant "Cardinal Law Must Go!"
Stickers have been printed and as many as fifty bodies are there regularly when Law is saying mass there.
Sunday the 22nd of September is a day where regular catholics who go to church and "don't know what to do" have a chance to say something by their absence, says one organiser of the event. "Many good Catholics are so stunned and shaken by revelations of clergy cover-ups they are in need of the very thing that is eroding the church from under them so they feel powerless" he also said.
"This day gives them a foothold whereby a notable absence sends a message strongly to the chancery once more that Law must resign for the good of all"
Those responsible for the protest also urge the presence of the latity outside the cathedral of the holy cross off columbus avenue around 10 am to show solidarity and listen to speakers who come from many groups calling for Law's removal.
