Jill Stein garnered 32% of the respondents' support, following Mitt Romney (33%) and leading Shanon O'Brien, in an after-debate poll. The debate was aired on channel 56. Stein's considerable support proves that her inclusion in the debate was arguably in the interests of the persons watching the debate, or at least those persons who took the time to respond to the poll. |
Jill Stein garnered 32% of the respondents' support, following Republican candidate Mitt Romney (33%) and leading Democratic Shanon O'Brien, in an after-debate poll. The debate was aired on channel 56. Stein's considerable support proves that her inclusion in the debate was arguably in the interests of the persons watching the debate, or at least those persons who took the time to respond to the poll. This is in contrast to much of the rhetoric surrounding the debates, which has been that the public is not interested in hearing third-party candidates' views or in having non-mainstream parties represented. This should come as good news to supporters of Stein's campaign and advocates of debates that include a broad array of perspectives.
The final debate on October 28th, sponsored by the Boston Herald, still does not plan to include the three third-party candidates, according to the Herals (source--www.jillwill.org). |

into third place.
Also, FWIW, Seth Gitell of the Boston Phoenix
says "Jill Stein won the debate":
