Prison Reform Speak Out and March (english)

Join with prisoner rights groups across the country this sat., Oct. 19th, in Dudley Square at 2:30 in protest of the atrocities surrounding the US prison industrial complex and celebrate a recent victory in the Supreme Judicial Court!
PRISON REFORM UNITY DAY
MARCH AND SPEAKOUT AT DUDLEY SQUARE AND
SOUTH BAY PRISON
OCT. 19TH @ 2:30

Join with prisoner rights groups across the country in
protest of the atrocities surrounding the US prison industrial complex and celebrate a recent victory in the Supreme Judicial Court!

Family members, activists, ex-prisoners and legislators including City
Councilor Chuck Turner and Representative Gloria Fox, will be speaking
out about their experiences and against the conditions found in
Massachusetts prisons.
Phil Kassel, key lawyer in the Havarty case, will be speaking about
this
exciting new judicial victory concerning solitary confinement for
prisoners in Massachusetts and around the country!

There will be a peaceful march from Dudley square to South Bay prison
on

Saturday October 19th to condemn prison conditions in this state and
celebrate a recent judicial ruling on the use of arbitrary solitary
confinement. Spoken word and Hip-hop artists, drummers and puppets will
escort the march.
South Bay prison has segregation and gang units, and has had an long
historical record of brutality and racial profiling. The severe
conditions in South Bay have warranted a special legislative commission
to investigate this institution.
We will meet in front with to say
we refuse to allow the torture of our people behind bars!

People will meet at 2:30 in front of the library in Dudley square,
where
there
will be speakers before we march to South Bay.
A speak-out will then be held in front of the prison.
