LEts do it, we can rock the foundation. MASS DIRECT ACTION!!!!!!!
This time we could get everyone to look up. Coincide our march with the inauguration.
would be impossible to pull it off, but miracles do happen. If all people out there could turn out and show support, nonviolent and peaceful, we could have one hell of a show not even the media could turn away from.
Anyone interested?????????

why then, why not at the debates?

wouldn't it be more effective to deal with the tasks at hand? that is months from now and most people probably won't come anyway.
More direct action

"Direct Action" is just a way for one self-appointed group to deny another group that they don't agree with, their rights.

What should the police do about a "nonviolent" group blocking an abortion clinic. To respond in any way would be an escalation, right? So do nothing? Let them close the clinic? How about when the fascists try to non violently close the IMC. If there are more of them, than they win. Is that what democracy looks like? I don’t think so.

Those cops that you berate and dehumanize in the propaganda on this site would be there to protect your rights.

How did the after-the-fact slashing of the tires and breaking of windows of the police cars in Boston effect the moral asendency of the "direct actions" goals. How about the jerks with the masks who were loading up on big rocks to throw at the cops and the horses. Did that make put the protesters on higher moral ground?

The "that wasn't me, I can't be held responsible for someone else" cop out doesn't cut it. If you were in the crowd you were part of ALL that.

These “direct action” campaigns that block streets and trash police cars are non democratic, politically ineffective, logically dishonest and just plain ugly.

But for bored rich white kids, it must be great excitement.
Bored rich kids. Not i

How often i hear the nonsense that it is "bored rich kids ... opposed to this or that... violently protesting"

Those who write such, who speak such, have probably not taken the time to look at who is there. In Seattle, Washington, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, there have been all ages, all colours, not all of the same politics opinion, except that people need to participate in democracy, and that the elite few are not allowing people to participate.

If the police were not taking sides, protecting all of our rigths, then why is it that the "protesters" are targeted, why is it that the Gore supporters can march, beat up others, break things, and "get away with it", but if another sits and refuses to move, that person is beaten, pepper-sprayed.

No, the police are not acting impartially. They are, individually, not taking responsibility for their actions. "just obeying orders?" Hmm. Obedience to orders was not allowed as an excuse during the Nuremburg trials.

Direct action campaigns have been very effective, if one considers that the American Revolution was, in fact, just one such direct action (campaign).

But I guess George Washington et al. are ok, and "bored rich kids" (sic) are not ok.

Ignore the dan faulkner fellow

He merely cuts and pastes his same uninformed "critique" of direct action on each post, yet ignores everyones rebuttals.
