An international conference of attorneys and other legal professionals, from the United States, Russia, China, Israel and other countries, aimed at restricting the power vested in the international war crimes tribunal in The Hague, will be held in Israel in two months, Israel Radio reported Sunday.
Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who initiated the conference, told Israel Radio the tribunal's jurisdiction must be criticized.
Netanyahu reportedly said if the court's power is not examined, IDF soldiers and commanders, as well as members of other Israeli security bodies - apparently the Shin Bet security service and the Mossad - could be personally indicted in The Hague. |
