Free Speech Radio News NO STIPEND THIS MONTH RADIO NEWS? (english)
23 Dec 2002

When I heard FSRN begin referring: "to listen to the current news program and to hear archived news broadcasts visit www.fsrn.org' I thought it was simply a matter of pointing this out. According to Deepa Fernandes, the host, it's an effort for much needed support via www.fsrn.org sales and monetary donations. Also "critical of all signs" and ho wto complement some with independent refernces.

The 'toggle reference reminds me of Iggy Pop commenting on a song of his that was used in a corp-merical: 'Well, the song wasn't conceived for commercial intent'. My disclaimer is when I posted the enclosed FS records listing Deja News was similar to IMC's Newswire Open Publishing allows. You didn't have to register and I suspect it was developed by someone without corp-intentions.

Anyhow to drag this on, rather than post a FS listing here and take up space as this explanation is doing feel free to let me know if you're interested in any of the records. This will finally probably get me "thrown out" of here.

All proceeds will be for use in my at present limited means to support www.fsrn.org

Anecdote'al:

Last Saturday, Dec 21, 2002 while walking by Harvard and Beacon Street being somewhat observant I noted several or more active citizens who were receiving considerable horn honking apparently in agreement with any efforts to foster processes of peace, specifically in Iraq.

Since the outbound trolley had yet to arrive I walked over and said, using a silly title of a recent Radiate in Peace annoucement, "hey why not a sign 'Honk if you're burning fossil fuels!'.

After a few belly laughs we began talking and it's not the first time I found someone completly unware of FSRN, IndyMedia, and WMBR, etc.
(http://lynx.dac.neu.edu/j/jzappia/airwavewebflyer.html) -yea, I'm in process of riding myself of this URL.

She did say she gets news "from the Internet" though for some people a general statement like that might mean they get stuff from hate-hate-hate clan.

Since politeness is maybe less so in public someone said "do you really believe it's a case of "no blood for oil". We both started "defending" the sign posting and as I dashed for the trolley I reflected upon the need for not only Peace Action and American Friends Service Committee or anyone not to limit themselves to a form of corp sound downsizing of sorts.

(http://globetrotter.berkeley.edu/people2/Chomsky/chomsky-con3.html - He lacks concision")

or what Steve Cohen, formerly with www.fair.org / F.A.I.R. says, in this sort of vulgar paraphrase: I took what he said to be a four-order pointing or indirection, when he speaks even if in 15 second chucks or so, one can make a clear and concise point which includes a pointer to a web page with further information, and it in turns contains links to still other pages, gateways, etc. Thus, one 15 second concise statement may not only provide new information to someone but a place to find out more, and link to another site, and on and on.) and yes as http://lynx.dac.neu.edu/j/jzappia/non-web-too.html tries to do is include phone numbers and such too

With a little facilitation and complementing by American Friends Service Committee...

If any point tio this, it's to complement what active citizens are doing with concrete informations sources especially for the people whose belief map includes "the U.S. is acting in self defense" and all the obvious follow thoughs that could accompany this belief.

More can be done than getting fossil fuel transporters to act in agreement and support of signs and the clipboards for potential supporters may include hardcopies for what does exsit in the Boston (worldwide webcasting listening, reflecting, and acting) area.

Using the supports who have been at INS in Boston as a postive example, there's usually descriptive flyers and people who clearly state why they're there. This had lead to more people being aware and resulting in desired outcomes. If the goal is peace I presume it's an evloving societal process of peace acting in conjuction with reality not above it.
