Christian Coalition and Senators held press conference in support of Miguel Estrada
Thursday afternoon a Senate/Christian Coalition press conference was held in the U.S. Capitol Building in support of Miguel Estrada. Those who spoke included Senator Orrin Hatch, R-UT, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee; Senator Rick Santorum, R-PA, Chairman of the Republican Conference; Senator Pete Domenici, R-NM, Chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee; Senator Peter Fitzgerald, R-IL; Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Richard Carmona; Treasurer of the United States of America, Rosario Marin; Christian Coalition of America's president, Roberta Combs, and the leader of the Hispanic Christian Coalition of America, Pastor Wilson Morales, PhD. They talked about the great American success story that is Miguel Estrada's and gave impassioned speeches in support of Harvard law graduate Miguel Estrada. Roberta Combs president of Christian Coalition of America asked the Senators to allow a vote on this fine man.

Anti-Cloning ban passes overwhelmingly in the House of Representatives
The bipartisan "Human Cloning Prohibition Act" introduced by Congressman Dave Weldon, R-FL and Congressman Bart Stupak, D-MI, passed by a huge margin of 241 to 155 this week. 42 Democrats voted for this commonsense bill. Christian Coalition activists need to contact their Senators to urge them to immediately pass Sen. Sam Brownback's similar bill.

Virtual Child Pornography Ban passed in U.S. Senate
On Monday, the Republican-controlled Senate actually beat the House of Representatives in passing a ban on virtual child-pornography, a bill sponsored by Senator Orrin Hatch, R-UT, chairman of the Judiciary Committee. In the last Congress, the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed legislation to ban virtual child pornography, in response to the outrageous 6-3 Supreme Court decision last April which allowed such demented pornography. The Democrat-controlled Senate did nothing to counter-act this outrageous decision.

The U.S. Supreme Court gives prolife movement a huge victory this week
By a margin of 8-1, a majority on the Supreme Court, including former ACLU top lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg, voted to overturn a lower court decision punishing prolife activists, including Joe Scheidler, allowing huge fines against them --intended for criminal racketeers. Prolife activists will now be able to resume their protests without threat of punishment. Efforts now need to be made to overturn the equally unconstitutional FACE (Federal Access to Clinic Entrances) Act passed by Congress in 1996 which restricts the First Amendment rights of prolife activists who want to pray and counsel at abortion mills.

Radically-liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco says "NO" to "Under God"
In an outrageous rebuke to the Bush Administration which asked the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco to overturn a decision by 2 of their most left-wing judges who said school children can no longer say the Pledge of Allegiance because of the words "Under God," the full court said "No!" to the Bush administration. 80%-90% of Americans oppose this abominable decision. This is yet another reason why highly-qualified individuals such as Miguel Estrada, need to be immediately put on the federal court bench. The U.S. Supreme Court will now hear this case.

Whacked Out Bible-bangers for Theocracy (english)
03 Mar 2003
Whoa! Fundamentalist Christian screeds on Indymedia! Tired of living in a dysfunctional democracy? Why not try a theocratic state run by far-right whackos who want women "in their place" and you on your knees! Think of it! You might be saved and float up to the promise land when the so-called "Rapture" comes down. You'll be soooo much better than those OTHER people, the ones who don't commune with the one, true minute'm just chencking my calendar. I could have sworn it was the 21st century. Maybe not. Maybe it's still the Dark Ages when soooo many folks believed in things no one has ever seem. Imagine that.
