While browsing and reading some articles
that appeard to ask some valid questions, the page refreshed and the
comments were gone. The only thing that remained was the original
storuy on one, and comments that opposed what the author proposed.

Cheering, chanting and waving flags, thousands jammed shoulder to shoulder into downtown Houston's Jones Plaza today to hear politicians, soldiers
entertainers praise God, America and President Bush's firm stand against Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

The ostensibly nonpartisan "Rally for America," sponsored by talk radio station KPRC, quickly turned into a spirited affirmation of Bush's policies.
included House Majority Leader Rep. Tom DeLay, House Deputy Whip Kevin Brady and City Councilman Michael Berry.

The only speaker who opposes military intervention in Iraq, Houston U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, was greeted with boos as she stepped onto the
midway through the two-hour rally. She and her party later were led from the plaza under protective police guard.

KPRC spokeswoman Melissa Brezner said 8,000 to 10,000 people attended the event. "This is not anti-war and it's not pro-war. It's not leaning either
way," she
said as the event began at noon.

The right-wingers held their rally downtown today at Jones Plaza. Indeed they had a larger group than the anti-war rally on Feb. 15th. This is no doubt due to the
fact that it was promoted over KPRC radio, which has a much larger listenership than KPFT radio, which was the only station to promote the Feb. 15th rally.
It was the usual fare of God, guts and country that we've seen before, featuring Rep. Tom "the Hammer" DeLay and Houston City councilmember Michael Berry,
who had voted against the "peace resolution" this past week in city council. (NB - the local Republicans have drafted their own resolution for city council to adopt.

I don't know if a councilmember will propose it to the mayor.)
Also on hand for the event today was Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, an outspoken opponent of Bush's war, who was horribly booed at the rally. Some people had
signs opposing her.
Several counterdemonstrators showed up, including a man who burned copies of the Confederate flag. I was dressed conservatively and managed to disable
the sound system several times. What a hoot!
But what do these anti-US-Anti-war--anti-troops people do in thie spare time?

Pacifica Foundation Executive Director, Bessie Wash, interrupted the regularly scheduled broadcast of Democracy Now! this morning to personally attack and
libel me in regards to an incident at KPFT in Houston on Friday night. This broadcast went out nationally to all the Pacifica stations; NYC, LA, Berkeley,
Washington, DC and Houston as well as many other affiliated stations across the US and over the internet worldwide. Ms. Wash, falsely claimed that I violently
assaulted KPFT employee Molly O'Brien and praised a KPFT volunteer for stepping in to help her. The fact of the matter is that O'Brien assaulted one of the
protestors with me at KPFT, then her husband, Garland Ganter, who is the manager at KPFT, assaulted me twice. Then I was assaulted by the same volunteer
that Ms. Walsh had praised. I was later arrested and charged with two counts of assault based on false reports to police by Ganter and O'Brien. For more info

Yeah. That's right. Two police estimates had the crowd at 10,000 people. More than twice the "anti-America" rally on Feb 15th, and we didn't have to bus people

in. At least we were able to have a little humor at the power problem, and the speakers still completed their speeches.

Go back to Florida, Eddie - and find some more Gore ballots to count. Waaaahhhhhh.

Considering how you squealed to the FCC to shut down Montrose Radio, this comes as no suprise. It is not that the message is right wing or left wing, only so
long as you disagree with it is it worthy of censoring.

10000 people. Channel 26 and two police estimates can this figure. Even the Houston Chronicle gives an estimate between 8000-10000.

Reasons why this rally bothers him, and others like him.

1) It was a rally in support of America. Not a rally to support Saddam the murderer.

2) We allowed ALL views to be expressed at the rally. Nobody was denied the right to speak.

3) Former Iraq citizens to pointed out the FACTS about Saddam at the rally.

4) It was a peaceful rally. Not one single inccident reported by police.

5) The rally was 100% honest and accurate. That's what bothers the liberals the most. Facts and honesty are not part of their agenda.

It was a terrific rally, and I would agree that there were approximately 10,000.

The sound gliches were just gliches. The America-hater lying about his sabotage is just full of crap. Lying is part of their lack of morality, and it really is
different than all the other lies they tell.

I didn't see any counter-protesters, probably due to the lack of drug availiblity.

I noticed how clean the participants left the facility and how respectful and well behaved everyone was, but you must take into account the kind of
people who

I'm just amazed that the America-haters haven't made any Nazi references. They tend to resort to name calling (moron, idiot, etc), scare tactics
(destroying the
environment, starving children, etc) and of course negative association (Enron, Nazi's, evil, etc), because their agruements are not factual and/or sound.
This is
one reason their are almost no leftist talk show hosts. They would have no means to back their positons when challenged, and who would listen to name
calling for 3 hours a day.

I wish these people would grow up and live in the real world instead of we-can-defeat-anything-with-love (and weed) fantasy world.

I'm anti-war, but I'll throw you a bone. Edwin Johnston is famous in Houston. Do a search on Houston IndyMedia. Look for the word "snitch." Edwin, refered to in your post, has very curious reputation and a long history of calling law enforcement against others. He's even tried to get people's children taken away from them just because he doesn't like their politics.

1st: Most I know are not for WARS, you'd have to be one sick puppy to want war... so in fine many of the "labels"
attached to a different view on this sitrep are misnomers.

This is a unique set of facts where war was declared on america by Radical Muslims ( this is NOT a condemnation of
all muslims in the USA or abroad ) and we as a nation have
choices... to wait and see if we are NUKED by suit case bombs, or if suicide bombers are going to strike our schools and hospitals, etc.. as they claim.. or bio warfare ensues.. among other things... aimed at our total destruction..

The facts are they already made the trip on 9/11 taking out
non-military civilians, women and children. ( and it's
very interesting those who march against the US have never
once marched against the terrorist acts of that date nor their sponsoring nation(s).. nor for any other country in the world to "disarm" among other things.. Why do you think this is?)

Wherefore, The President and we as a united people have
a choice.. to do preventive "maintenance" or wait and
see if a new major attack will occur.

Sadahm who could be using the resources of his nation ( Oil)
to enhance every one in Iraq's life has made his choice..
to hoard as much as he can, maintain a power thats hell bent on seeing the US and other nation(s) destroyed,and killing his own people, specially if you speak OUT like you can in our country.

I hear the holler that the war is for controll of the oil.. in essence it is, it needs to be taken out of the mad mans hands and given back to the people of Iraq.. wherefore no one should be without in that country. If left in SH's control he will build weapons of MD and you or your children will probably be a target.. Do these folks who
march on his behalf feel they would be spared death by him or al q., or any other anti-american muslim group? Harhar

Then........there is another end result.....
Allowing individual rights to prosper among the Iraqcitizens
as those who have left for the USA and live here
enjoy is another end result of removing this person from power.

I personally stand behind our President for many reasons
within the issue. He has the most sofisticated resources in the world available to help him guage his decisions. We elected him to perform the tasks he performs.
