Please Don't Feed the Trolls
Wikipedia defines an Internet Troll as: "An Internet troll is either a person who sends messages on the Internet hoping to entice other users into angry or fruitless responses, or a message sent by such a person." Boston IMC strives to provide both a grassroots media resource as well as a forum for people to contribute to a meaningful discussion about local issues. Please, when posting comments, be respectful of others and ignore those trying to interrupt or discourage meaningful discourse. Thank you.

I've heard this is an ANSWER march, and if it is, so be it. It's a march at least. We need to be out on the streets as much as possible. I am just urging some critical thinking about ANSWER and what it stands for and how it tries to coopt and be the most visible presence in actions, and sometimes works against others who are anti-war for its own benefit. Any other comments on this very welcome. That's my 2 cents. Now off the internet, out on the streets, with your critical thinking skills! |

hey, i'm a college student in the boston area and i wondered if there were any anti-war groups i could join (be they college-affiliated or an organization or whatever) that work against the war and attend rallies/marches. unfortunately, everyone i know was all gung-ho on thursday night, but it seems people's motivation is shot already. i'd REALLY, REALLY appreciate it if anyone with information about such groups could reply to this... i really care about the anti-war effort, but am having an extremely difficult time both finding people to go with AND finding out when marches/rallies are (for instance, i didn't know about the march to government center on thursday night, b/c i don't go to one of the bigger colleges). i am going to try to make it to this rally at park street today, but don't really feel safe on my own. |

If you check www.unitedforpeace.org, you will see that ANSWER is not listed as one of the sponsors of today's march. They are, however, listed as sponsoring yet another speech today in Cambridge.
Those guys just can't work with anybody. |

I appreciate your post, and I should have had the forethought to check on the sponsors of the march. I had just heard from word of mouth. See you in the streets! |

On my own, I am member of the Boston Campus Anti-War Coalition, as well as a student at Suffolk Univeristy. We are a lose network of Boston area college anti-war groups, and we can connect you with a group at your school or help you start one. We are independant of any other group(ANSWER, ISO, UJP, ect.) We organized the 7000+ student march on Thursday. Email me and I will help you out. |
