I've got a better idea. Why don't you join the US Armed forces and go to Iraq? We won't miss you.
"love it or leave it" (english)
28 Mar 2003
Same old tired stupid redundant paradoxical statement. I don't want to hear it one more time. Don't people have a brain? Don't people ever get tired of being zombie puppets of patriotic programming? Do some people NEVER have the thought that you can love a place and people so much that you want to make it better by criticizing it? Also, that supporting the so called fucking "leader" of this place of 275 million people does not constitute loving the rest of those 275 million people? Or that we're not obliged to love that "leader" in order to live here, where we didn't ask to be born but we were, and then we grew to love people around us and make a life for outselves, despite the crimes of the government?

surprise - you can be both things at once. you can have two thoughts in the same day.
support the troops, bring them home (english)

Bring home our army of the poor who needed money to go to college because it's the only way they ever could go to college, or who joined because they had no other good choice, or their family was a career military family (mercenary by trade), or who have an identity crisis because their parents filled them with shame if they didn't live up to their expectations of patriotic duty, or those boys hopped up on testosterone who think that being in the military is so manly and brave and so they train to kill other people and satisfy their manhood (by this fucked up gender definition)...

You think that woman wants to be a prisoner of the Iraqi army right now? She signed up to be a cook. That poor boy who joined after September 11 in the flurry of patriotic splendor on TV every night, that other boy who thought the Army was like a real life video game because that's how the ads look and they also even made an "official army video game" using millions of our tax dollars...

Think they want to die or kill?

Maybe some of them do, maybe some of them don't, maybe some of them have been brainwashed by the results of the army's psyops research on training soldiers...

Lucky my sister had knee problems or she would be in the navy right now and i don't want her to die for the price of oil. I would have joined the army if it was an army of liberation. However, I don't work for G W Bush and I won't die for him. I'll die only for people I respect much more.
Resolving the "Paradox" (english)
29 Mar 2003
This isn't a paradox. I love the troops. I support them. Their average age is like, 20. I don't want them to die. That is not a problem. Supporing the troops means insisting that their lives are not sacrificed for a bad reason.
hmm... (english)

well, you see, we'd be happy to leave the U.S. if we werent worried about being in on of the 30 or so randomly chosen countries that get victimized by U.S. foreign policy every year.

now that we've decided the UN is useless, that number will be jumping to 60 or so, i suspect.

by the way...
i think i know you...
do you own an SUV?
