DisOrganized Resistance is Creating a Website (english)
02 Sep 2003
Modified: 03 Sep 2003
A shell of a website that will be available for broadcasting DisOrganized Resistance event schedules and locations is now online.
The website is still under development. All solicitations for contributions to the content, format, and graphics for the website will be made in person, not over the Internet.

The new website has mulitple layers for security purposes. The outermost layer can be seen at:

This layer is available to the general public. Some members of the public will not be able to access this web directly as many IP ranges have been pre-emptively banned, including those belonging to hostile organiztions, corporation (defense contractors, associates of the Bush Regime, etc.), federal government agencies, and other governmental entities. Soon we will block all access from all state governments as well.

The inner layer of the website will be password controlled. User accounts and passwords will be allocated in person, not over the Internet.

The inner layer contains another layer in which an even better protected interactive forum is hosted. The purpose of the forum is to discuss techniques, future plans (if there are any), and locations of events while they are in their hypothetical stages of planning. Once we decide to make an event public, we will announce it on the outer layer.

The reason for the security is obvious. As we have seen on this IndyMedia site, over the last two days, there are individuals hostile to our movement. It is best to have a location where we are free to discuss details and ideas free of harassment and monitoring.

Method of access allocation. (english)

Just to address one issue before it is brought up, the reason for allocating UserIDs and passwords in person is to avoid interception of this information over the Internet. I also wish to minimize the number of accounts given to infiltrators (minimize it to zero if possible). Since this is a local movement and we meet each week at the same location, this should not present a problem. In order to avoid harassment from outside of the local are (e.g. the "COINTELPRO" individuals posting over the last two days are in Los Angeles), we will soon block all IP ranges belonging to ISP's that do not service the Boston Area directly.

Nope, the resistance is disorganized. (english)
02 Sep 2003
The movement is disorganized and anyone can create a website for it. In fact, I think it would be great if we created a webring of disorganized resistance websites.

The purpose of this latest website is to provide materials for helping members of the resistance communicate without the concern of easy monitoring by rogue cops and "COINTELPRO" want-to-be's, such as the losers from California that were posting here yesterday.

To understand the concept of "disorganized resistance" better, see the article:

I am trying to create a reality out of this concept. The primary modification I'm making is to provide some means of online communication between local members. If you read the article, you will see that the idea is to organize based on contacts in the real world (rather than the Internet). The method of allocating access to the new website's forum is based on this.

In time I want to add more information concerning the use of encryption in email and other such things that will help make the Internet a viable means of communication between local resistance associations.
"disorganization" is an ideal state (english)
03 Sep 2003
the word organize is derived from the word organ, as in human organs, implying a division of labor. Durkheim differentiated between organic solidarity, where individuals depend on each other's efforts, and mechanical solidarity, where individuals with similar interests are drawn together by virtue of similar goals. Organic solidarity is the hallmark of the capitalist system, where everyone is specialized and thus dependent on the whole. A computer programmer does not know how to grow his own food, so he depends on the farmers to do it for him. really puts a damper on free thinking in a way. the disorganized resistance as I understand it works to empower independent agents not by dividing the labor but simply by facilitating communication between them, fostering a self-organizing system based on the independent actions of individual agents. with no rules imposed from above, a certain order nonetheless emerges, the legitimacy of which stems from its spontaneous nature, guided, if you will, by the invisible hand present in a free market of ideas.
Wow, far out! Hey, i'm with the Unorganized (english)

That's Unorganized Unorganization of Unorganizers! You guyz gotta czech out my latest direct action in Boston yesterday (Tuesday); maybe a few o' y'all saw me on da strEEt...? See this website:

Note that my method is to seek to go beyond ideology and guilt. (for a read about the problem of guilt read: ) (...i'm wondering, from the tiny bit i saw at your link, if your method is the same old tired leftism but with an "anarchist" bent...anyway, i see promotion of guilt and attack *at* the public as a dead end; i've been at this stuff for over 10 years and my view is that most people respond better to attempts to treat them with respect and beautifulness--And that doesn't mean one has to water-down their insurrection; not at all!)

Anyway, i love your ideah based on what i read so far; may yOu all find a way to also realize the value of having a lot of FUN in this wildness of yours!

Btw, have you guyz seen or read Brian Glick's book *War At Home: Covert Action Against US Activists and What We Can Do About It* (South End Press, 1990)? If you haven't, i suggest you spend the $5 to get a copy for your collective, because there's some really excellent suggestions for dealing with both fears and actual shit, with a discussion of the history of covert action and the probable future.

may yOu find the excellence yOu are looking for
