can you imagine the carnage (english)

if we did that in the u.s.? they'd use live rounds...
Protect Shit?...Shit Happens! (english)

The police deserve what transpired. Protect shit? Shit happens! That's right! What do the cops expect? Those people are poorer than any of us could ever imagine. I'm glad the poor countries told the WTO, NO. All the WTO would have done was raped their countries anyway. Good for the protesters!
WE need protesters like that!
As for the U.S. police shooting at us? On camera? I doubt it!

if your message was a response to mine, i think you misunderstood me. i wish there'd been _more_ feces-flinging in cancun, not less, and more of everything else besides (of _course_ the cops deserved it, along with the delegates), i think it's a great tactic, and i'd support it here. no need to get all righteous on me about resisting the WTO with tactics like this, friend, i'm right there with you. i was just making an idle comment on the harsher police response that i'd expect in the U.S.

look at the tactical situation in the picture . . . my guess is that after the picture was taken, the flinger ran behind his lines and was OK. that would line up with what i've seen abroad. now imagine what would happen if someone tried that in NY so close to cops (or even from the other side of a line.) wasn't it NY where a guy got shot in the throat with a rubber bullet for flicking a cop off at a demonstration? it's just the way the police work in "liberal democracies"--they're less overtly repressive in some cases (for example, street shutdowns can be negotiated (although i for one don't think that cops should EVER be negotiated with)), but that's made up for by an extremely deep reservoir of violence (ten-year mandatory minimums, terrible prison systems, endlessly extended trials, beatings and cripplings and yes, live rounds, especially if you're not white) below the surface that's much harder to resist directly. it's just a thought, that's all. we should consider this in florida.
