March This Sunday: Third Anniversary Of The Palestinian Infitada (uprising) (english)
21 Sep 2003
Modified: 25 Sep 2003
Join us this sunday, the 28th, in Copley Square, to march in protest of Israel's genocidal policies and the US's support of them.
Sunday, September 28th
Copley Square (green line --> mbta.com for schedules, maps, etc.)
12:30 noon (earlier if you can get there)

Sure, a lot of us don't support the organizers of this march (ANSWER), with quite valid reasons. I myself don't support ANSWER at all. But we need to show solidarity on this issue. I don't care who organizes the march, most of the people there probably don't support ANSWSER or wouldn't if they knew more about them. Let's join together in protest of the US's and Israel's policies and speak out against the genocide. Spread the word. See you sunday.

Since I work on Sundays I cannot be there. However, I will be there in spirit. I will print up a flyer for the event and make it available at the next occupation of Harvard Square on Saturday.
ANSWER in Boston (english)
23 Sep 2003
The last time ANSWER declared they were having a major event (which was actually nothing more than ripping off the hard work of other groups like UJP and BAAM! and then attaching their name to it), they repeatedly enjoined the cops to attack, harrass, and ultimately arrest the anarchists in the crowd.

ANSWER's inane walks through town (punctuated by even more inane authoritarian, tyrant-supporting blather) accomplish nothing, increase the visibility and acceptance of an overtly authoritarian organization that has supported lovely red fascists as Kim Jong Il and Slobodan Milosevic, and give them even more leverage to engage in attacks (by way of their "peace police" or their highly suspicious influence over the regular cops) on other activists.

A while back, I used to argue that we should still go the ANSWER events and basically just ignore that they are the authoritarian, peace-police, red-fascist-supporting scum that they are. That last event, though, changed my opinion drastically. Essentially, if you are at an ANSWER event, you better keep one on the jackboots in blue and another one on the jackboots with the orange armbands.

I believe you have a point. Here is a proposal. I will produce a leaflet calling for an anti-authoritarian presence at the protest and stating clearly that the anti-authoritarian presense is independent of ANSWER.

If you have any suggestions pertaining to avoiding subversion or authoritarian manipulation by ANSWER, I suggest you email me and I will consider including the information and suggestions in the leaflet provided it is presented in a positive light (e.g. suggestions on what to do and not to do). It is my policy not to smear other opponents of the regime (whether individuals or organizations) on public forums or leaflets. Discussion of the defects of such groups and individuals should be conducted in a manner which does not lend itself to exploitation by the government or authoritarians.

I think you know how to contact me by email. I will not be posting my email address.

If you prefer, stop by on Saturday and bring your own leaflet. Pass it out if you want or add it to our collection for people to take.
uh, I don't think so (english)
