Boston Indymedia's typeface is Unreadable on many computers
07 Jan 2004
I am sure I'm not the first person to complain...but jeez! The type face is so tiny that the only way you can read anything on the site is to cut and paste it into another format and enlarge it.
Maybe it is just on older computers like mine (and mine isn't that old - but nothing except the main title on the page is legible. The typeface shows up as about a 3-point font! This is the only indy site that seems to have this problem...I hope you can fix it. I enjoyed browsing the site before the change.

It's not a real IMC.

Boston IndyMedia is not a real IMC. Write it off and find another place to post.
Re: Boston Indymedia's typeface is Unreadable on many computers

The Boston.Indymedia website's font sizes are set in ems instead of pixels. This is done so that our visitors, either due to disabilities or personal preference, may increase or decrease the size of the text of the web page through their browser. If the font on your browser is showing up extremely small, the likely reason is that the browser's text display is set to 'smallest.' Not sure what browser/platform you are using, but on Internet Explorer on Windows, by clicking on "View" in the menu, then "Fonts" in the submenu, selecting "Medium" from there should show the correct size.

If this is a problem for others, I can change the fonts on the website back to pixels, ensuring a more uniform appearance.

In response to the other comment posted here, I'd like to know, seriously, why Boston Indymedia is not a 'real IMC.' What are we not doing? What should/could we be doing? Do you have any examples of 'real IMCs' anywhere else that Boston should strive to emulate?

Or perhaps this just unconstructive criticism, and I should rephrase my questions to be monosyllabic for you to comprehend.
