Who should come? Every person who wants to drive out the Bush regime. |
2007 must be the year a movement of millions drives out the Bush regime, repudiates its agenda and begins reversing the direction it has taken society. Millions came off the elections energized and with a sense that they are the majority in wanting to end the war and change the direction society is being taken. There are important openings to act now - to go into the gap between what people want and voted for and on the other hand, the juggernaut of the Bush regime that is not being challenged by Congress.
To formulate plans for 2007, we need many to participate in sharing their experiences and ideas for what must be done to overcome the facts that millions still don't see "it is worse than you think" and millions who would be receptive don't know about the vehicle of World Can't Wait that has the vision and plan to drive out the Bush regime. Those who have taken part on the national conference calls get a sense of that back and forth of analyzing the political situation and questions people have and discussing plans, what people around the country have come up with; what has inspired people and what hasn't worked as well. At this meeting, we need to take that to a whole other level; with the many activists from around the country in a way only face-to-face discussion can.
On a recent national conference call, someone from the NYC chapter told of the impact the last national meeting had on her life. She said it was at that meeting that she really understood the necessity of driving out the Bush regime and that it is possible. She got a sense of not being alone, that there are people all over the country who feel the same intense hatred of where things are going as she did. She said that lots of ideas get thrown around and it strengthens you to figure out what has to be done. "I urge you to get everyone you can to come, at any cost. Raise the money, do whatever it takes."
New leaders are needed to step forward. Everyone that agrees with driving out this regime needs to become activated and find ways of participating in this movement.
On Saturday, we will have discussion of the big questions of where we're at and what we need to figure out to formulate plans. On Sunday, we will have workshops on chapter building, fundraising, outreach to the military, worldcantwait.org, and outreach/alliance building.
Come and bring as many people from your area as you can.
Location and exact schedule TBA.
