being an ancient activist...with a little different perspective... i ran into the animal welfare demonstration at Wyeth in North Cambridge...I was impressed by the demonstrators...a small number yes... but left the neighborhood buzzing with discussion on the issues... and Wyeth and the Cambridge cops twitching nervously with their cameras /cell phones...
...the demonstrators were speaking to Wyeth employees about animal experimentation by the company in a different division and were clear on the facts they presented...loud enough to get attention but not abrasive...
...in my day that would have been called a success....big numbers are impressive... but getting your point across makes the impact...
...i was impressed by the level of bureaucratic and enforcement paranoia... for a small, short event.... you get them nervous, that speaks volumes... going to try to load some pics... |
