Demonstrators from the Friends of Haley House Affinity Group protested the Bush fundraiser at the Park Plaza Hotel in Boston on Thursday, March 25, 2004. |

Flags draping bodies were; Haitian, Puerto Rican, USA, Iraqi, Afghan, and Palestinian. A number of rowdy seemingly union guy got into a literal tug of war with US flag, over us having it on/near the ground.

Good visuals! How was it received besides somebody trying to keep the US flag off the ground? I will say, in the spirit of constructive criticism, that "US imperialism is terrorism" probably doesn't mean much to many people. A banner without jargon is likely to reach further, especially with such a powerful image. |

I thought the reaction was pretty good. It was hard to tell I was under a flag for the entire time (about 75 minutes). We talked about the diffrent banner text for a while. One more low key one was, "What is US Foreign Policy" while the more more emphatic was "Imperalism, Racism and Zionism = Terrorism". I am just suprised that AP ran the photo with the banner visible. There was also a pic in the Boston Banner. It is a huge download (6meg) but you can see the whole paper here;
