The Power of Think-tanks
20 Jun 2004
Modified: 12:28:04 PM
Reminding folks of the unprecedented power think-tanks have in this country.

Right-wing think-tanks and religious action committees have had an incredible amount of influence in shaping the policy agenda put forth by the Bush Administration and the GOP. When there are obvious corporate or conservative Christian interests behind an initiative, whether it be the war in Iraq, the roll-back of environmental laws, or the recent abortion ban; there is always a powerful think-tank producing "research" and "data" to help ensure the initiatives benefit these interests. Their usually filled with former government officials, extremists, and powerful CEOs who have unprecedented access to high-up officials running the government. I've neatly compacted many of the logos for the most notable and powerful, all of which have websites I would seriously suggest those who haven't yet checked these out.

Time to Move

These think tanks are evil to democracy. Want real democracy? Get PACS and these evil doers OUT of our lives!
This country is headed for some real bad times.
The Neo-cons and Neo-crats are responsible for this countries failing democracy.
I hope people wake up. Before it's too late.

I definitely aggree and I fear all the control the Neo-cons have. Although traditional conservatives are often ethnocentric, zenophobic, paranoid, and concerned only with their needs, always indifferent to the plight of others, they at least didn't feel they should export and impose their idiological beliefs on other nations. The Neo-cons are so fanatic about being the Empire that works it almost seems like they can forget sometimes that their only in it for the profit motive. That's how every great empire fell-- got so caught up in believing in their own lies that the notion that people may distrust motives or disaggree became unfathomable.
