Free Speech Zone = Dog Kennel
28 Jul 2004
Delegates will be more affected by barking and whining than by words.
This is just my suggestion for an action in the Free Speech Zone. Everybody recognizes this as an inhumane affront to civil liberties. The Delegates have been persuaded that it is necessary. They may be sympathetic, but are they really listening to what people in the zone are saying?

People's emotions are often more directly affected by injustices toward animals than people. It would really hit them to walk past the kennel and hear several hundred caged dogs barking and whining at their captivity. The cops won't let you fill the pen with dogs, but proxy dogs would make the same impression.

Bark for justice!

Actually the delegates for the most part don't see it...if they are coming off the buses from there hotels the buses park in front of the area and they walk so far away you only hear the the loud speakers but they are pretty much covered up and choppy sounding over the buses pulling in and out....

If you really want to engage delgates...go out during the day to the tourist areas and have a conversation with them....or street theater or whatever....once they get to the fleet center it is like being in a bubble...
