All night i've seen pictures of the arrests, nevermind i saw it first hand. Finally i get to see the after. You did jail solidarity with 3 people? We tried to organize a noise brigade around the jail so you would know we where there, but it didnt happen.
Take care my friends.

Are you kidding me? take that "hook" off and turn it upside down. Looks exactly like a maltov. What a jackass, he deserves to get beat down. And what are those marks he is showing? Is that where Bubba grabbed him as he had his way with him in the clink?
Re: PHOTOS of the 3 DNC arrests

GWB, please. First, it looks like a bunch of tape and cardboard, not a flaming bottle. Second, he "deserved to get beat down"? What ignorance...

Any charges?
Re: PHOTOS of the 3 DNC arrests

True when you see it up close with no interference it does look harmless, but with as it has been reported, only on this site mind you, "thousands" of protestors screaming and pushing the cops have to take any precaution necessary to protect themselves and the public. What happened to all the "peaceful" demonstrations that were promised. Why does it always turn to violence?

Charges? How about disturbing my peace? Being a public nuisance? And don't give me the bs about free speech. If this guy really had something to say he wouldn't just be a follower, he would be doing something that would actually make a difference.

No. They have to act professionally and respect the Constitution of the country and state whose laws they are supposedly upholding.

What happened to all the "peaceful" demonstrations that were promised. Why does it always turn to violence?

Ask they cops. Maybe they enjoy arresting and beating people? Who knows?

Charges? How about disturbing my peace? Being a

Boo hoo for you.

And don't give me the bs about free speech. If this guy really had something to say he wouldn't just be a follower, he would be doing something that would actually make a difference.

You in the USA. Love it or leave it, asshole.

don't feed the undercover feds trolling this space to discourage people. it only multiplies their existance.

yeah trolls, we know you're here. fuck off an die.

anyway, I'm extremely happy to see them free, good job on ABC's part.

this was most definitely a case of cop induced violence.

I do love the USA. I don't understand what it is that you people want. Do you want a country that of total anarchy? I'm sorry, people are not civilized enough to live without laws. There needs to be some sort of control. What type of "government" are you looking to create? Enlighten me and maybe I will understand.

Why is it that anyone with a differing opinion from yours is a fed troll?

If you are truly looking to supplement your lack of knowledge, then you should try asking some sincere questions. When you cheerlead peoples' arrest for publicly expressing their views, it makes you sound like a fed troll.

The last picture of the kid with the bruises is my friend and I watched him get swung to the ground by about 4 cops. He was standed there, doing nothing, and they threw him. Later I saw the police screaming "Get the fuck out of my way" why slamming clubs. I saw another protester get slammed to the ground, and saw the protester in green get hauled off. What makes people who weren't there think that it was violent protesters? Remember, this all happened just after around 20 riot cops came down and moved in on our permitted protest. Remember that GWB (and others), we had legal right to be there. On to the "oh he deserved it" bullshit. Why exactly does an 18 year old deserve to be slammed on the pavement by huge police? Because he envisions a society where they aren't necessary? Because he disagrees with you? Let's talk after you've been inside a police riot. What credibility do the police have? It was a peaceful protest, we had been marching and chanting all day (not to mention all week). The violence only started when POLICE shoved, when police grabbed, or when police hospitalized a woman with their batons. Or when a police superintendent shoved the Democracy Now! camera woman and violently pushed a woman with a microphone (in the head). The police with their guns, masks, sticks, gas, and handcuffs are violent. When you watch these things happen, there is no way you can say the protesters are violent. Look at us, with our pirate garb, our raised peace signs, our chants and singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" while being escorted by about 30 bike cops, a helicopter, around 20 motor cycles, undercovers, cops on horses and in cars (no joke, we sang it). THEY are the ones trying to spread fear and violence. Don't forget, the theme of Thursday's march was anti-war, pro-peace. The cops in ninja-turtle outfits are the troublemakers.

So, is the top photo [photo #1] the paper mache pirate hook used for the pirate themed street theatre piece I saw in other photos?

This morning (Friday, 07/30/04) I heard on NPR a brief story on the Boston protests in which NPR said the police discribed the article in question as a "paper mache molotov cocktail." (The day before other news agencies described it as "paper mache incendiary device."

And is it the same as what is discussed in the Boston IMC story:

"Three Arrested Over Molotov Cocktail (Translation: Empty Plastic Bottle)"

http://boston.indymedia.org/newswire/display/25066/index.php

Oy.
Re: PHOTOS of the 3 DNC arrests

Dude, that does look a lot like a wick sticking out of a bottle.

What the hell was that paper hook for, anyway?
Re: PHOTOS of the 3 DNC arrests
30 Jul 2004
you can't figure out why "Pirates" would have a hook?

I'm not there right now. I moved west, so its harder to get to the NE. But I've been at protests before.

Basically, the cops were going to seize on something and use it as an excuse. In this case it was a pirate, in a group of pirates, who had a hook as part of the costume. Its been other things before, it will be other things in the future.

If we show up wearing clothes, we'll get attacked because of something we wore. If we show up naked, we'd get attacked for public nakedness.

Basically, BPD had just spent $50,000,000 of YOUR TAX MONEY defending against peaceful protestors. They had to attack something to somehow justify that money.

I've been there. I've been shoved, batoned, pepper sprayed and teargassed. I've never done anything violent at a protest. Just showed up to express my feelings on how un-American our government is. And that's the bottom line, if you show up to protest, you will get attacked by the police. That's America in the early 21st century.

Me, I want the America back that our founding fathers were trying to create. And I'll keep showing up at protests as that seems to be the only way of getting there. Voting for Kerry sure won't do it, although I might just to toss that paranoid meglomaniac Bush out on his ear.

We have the right to peaceably assemble. We have the right to petition our government for the redress of greviences.

If you try to excercise those rights, you'll be surrounded by robo-cop police, and most likely you'll be shoved, batoned, pepper-sprayed and teargassed by those robo-cop police. Welcome to America.

that was actually Amy Goodman (host of Democracy now!) with the mic who was shoved. i have video of it. that one cop, who got his name? was a total asshole. boston was wierd. most boston police were really cool and chill. there were those few who overreacted and now they have to justify the arrests. no excuse. compared to miami and what can happen in nyc
it was like disneyland. the state police were the intimidators and even then i have footage of them smiling and listening to folks talking to them. i have never seen that before. i felt a spark of a human element of the stormtroopers. maybe some really do understand and care about what is happening in the world. ??
the undercovers are goons and so damn obvious.
got them on video too.
Re: PHOTOS of the 3 DNC arrests
30 Jul 2004
From looking at photos and from what the media has said the protestors surronded the cops when they moved in to arrest the molitov cocktail man. Why would protestors surround the police, unless they were looking to cause problems. And what would some of you suggest the police do when they get surrounded by a large group of protestors? And if the protestors didn't surround, threated, and beat the cops, the molitov man probably wouldn't have been arrested.

There was no "molotov cocktail man".

well u CAN enlighten yourself yanno... go to infoshop.org if u wanna see what we want and find out just how possible it is when u take away opression... believe it or not we CAN live with anarchism, just because ur view on anarchism is full of "chaos"... all u haveta do is read up on it a bit because it IS possible its just that people spend all their time defending their beliefs when theyre wrong about things because they were brought up in this system... its sad really but i hope u can do some reading... doubt it though from someone who is able to say "he deserves to get beat down"... but hey anyone can change, good luck
