Was the third arrest Thursday random? |
After watching video of the second and third arrest on IndyMedia, it truly appears that the third arrest was random. The victim was grabbed suddenly as he stood there watching (he wasn't even chanting/shouting like most people there). The expression on his face is one of surprise, as he was quickly tossed to the ground by officers and then surrounded by the police with clubs.

Why would police pick someone like this to arrest who hadn't done anything? I have read that he is being charged with helping to burn the effigy, though you can't see him in any of the videos I watched (and I didn't see him do it when I was there).
I've been looking around at alot of pictures of the DNC, and through IndyMedia I found this one:
Notice the same protester holding the banner on the right of the picture. This is completely my own assumptions and bias, but I believe that it is quite possible the police targeted him because of his prominence in the protest and his involvement Thursday (and possibly throughout the week). This could explain the seemingly random move by Boston police. Also, the protester is recognizable, especially compared to masked protesters. An officer could have remembered him holding the banner earlier in the day and believed the protester was a "leader" (ha!) or just trouble. Considering there were only 4 arrests that I know of all week, and the other three were at specifically targeted individuals (one grabbed on the street by an undercover cop, one believed to have a molotov cocktail, and another for apparently knocking off a top cop's hat), it would be surprising if this arrest was truly random.

I don't know the name of the one my article is about, though I am good friends with the first person arrested and I know the other person is named Nick. |

he was arrested because he has a mask (bandana) on--even though it is legal to wear a mask, pigs still arrest you for it--and everyone pretends they have a right to do so--at the RNC EVERYONE should mask up--solidarity in anonymity!! They cannot fucking arrest us all...or even one of us, if we stick together |

The thrid protester in the red bandana is my brother Jordan McIntosh... He is a senior at Shorecrest High School in Seattle, Washington he was charged with "disturbing the peace" |

all three arrests were basically random. they didnt get the person they were after so they grabbed whoever was close at hand. |

I don't think Jordan was grabbed because of the bandana. The video I saw it was around his neck the entire time. There were plenty of people around with bandanas on. Some that I know very well. hint. Also, the first arrest they did get who they were after, the 18 year old with the pirate hook "molotov". |

a breakaway march of over 500 was arrested in sf
well they can is SF i dont know about NY
they aint ready for the west coast kids
But the threat of arrest shouldnt scare anyone
just think its one big party in jail, with like minds and new freinds for life.

can someone confirm the following information:
according to the Boston Police Department, only six
convention-related arrests occurred during the five-day period ending July 30. |

As far as I saw reported there were 5 all week (just today I heard about another arrest early Thursday not connected to protesting). |

To those who haven't visited the anti-RNC website, the legallity of masks is vauge especially in NY. It was made illegal but then challanged in court by the KKK for their right to demonstrate with hoods. Still, black blocers at NYC demos have been harrassed or arrested.
If Boston cops arrest us for wearing masks, then NYC pigs will be looking for the same reason to do so too. NY cops have a far worse reputation and by looking at the army of cops in Boston, I am sure there will be just as many if not double in New York.
But fuck all that noise. I am with duh, everyone mask-up at the RNC. We'll be twice as many at the RNC, and if we're all arrested, major jail-house dance party. |
