The Vote Was Rigged In Ohio and Florida
05 Nov 2004
Modified: 03:15:16 AM
A short article about Republican vote rigging in
Ohio, and Florida.
I really wish Kerry would have won the election,
and we had a President who cared about somebody besides Bandhar Bush in Saudi Arabia. Bush failed on the economy, foreign policy, health care, and the environment.

They rigged the election again in Florida, and
Ohio. Jeb Bush made sure the absentee ballots were never sent in democratic
areas in Florida. Then 250,000 voters were taken out of the first count in Ohio by
a Republican operative named Kenneth Blackwell.

Four more years of the Bush war monger Presidency, and all the corporate welfare for the rich.

The polarization the last few years has been interesting. The NY War protests never would have
happened had Gore won. Bush gives us all someone
to despise--the way Nixon used to be.

Re: The Vote Was Rigged In Ohio and Florida
05 Nov 2004
Mark Crispin Miller is a media critic, professor of communications at New York University, and author, most recently, of "Cruel and Unusual: Bush/Cheney's New World Order."

First of all, this election was definitely rigged. I have no doubt about it. It's a statistical impossibility that Bush got 8 million more votes than he got last time. In 2000, he got 15 million votes from right-wing Christians, and there are approximately 19 million of them in the country. They were eager to get the other 4 million. That was pretty much Karl Rove's strategy to get Bush elected.

But given Bush's low popularity ratings and the enormous number of new voters -- who skewed Democratic -- there is no way in the world that Bush got 8 million more votes this time. I think it had a lot to do with the electronic voting machines. Those machines are completely untrustworthy, and that's why the Republicans use them. Then there's the fact that the immediate claim of Ohio was not contested by the news media -- when Andrew Card came out and claimed the state, not only were the votes in Ohio not counted, they weren't even all cast. I would have to hear a much stronger argument for the authenticity, or I should say the veracity, of this popular vote for Bush before I'm willing to believe it. If someone can prove to me that it happened, that Bush somehow pulled 8 million magic votes out of a hat, OK, I'll accept it. I'm an independent, not a Democrat, and I'm not living in denial.

And that's not even talking about Florida, which is about as Democratic a state as Guatemala used to be. The news media is obliged to make the Republicans account for all these votes, and account for the way they were counted. Simply to embrace this result as definitive is irrational. But there is every reason to question it ... I find it beyond belief that the press in this formerly democratic country would not have made the integrity of the electoral system a front page, top-of-the-line story for the last three years. I worked and worked and worked to get that story into the media, and no one touched it until your guy did.

I actually got invited to a Kerry fundraiser so I could talk to him about it. I raised the issue directly with him and with Teresa. Teresa was really indignant and really concerned, but Kerry just looked down at me -- he's about 9 feet tall -- and I could tell it just didn't register. It set off all his conspiracy-theory alarms and he just wasn't listening.

There was another article that just came out
in Wired that indicates that they even had some
of the voting machines rigged in Florida, and
Ohio not to vote for Kerry.

Kenneth to Karl: "It's all set for Bush in Ohio--I'll make sure I fix it for us." I am not certain Rove actually called Kenneth--he may have had one
his stooges do the dirty work.

There was a report at Berkley that appeared in Wired that as many as 260,000 votes were rigged in Florida for Bush.

The black box voting went even further in several cases. According to Kim Zetter: "Reports from voters in Florida and Ohio also indicated that some of them had problems voting for the candidate of their choice. When they tried to vote for John Kerry, they said, the machine either wouldn't register the vote at all or would indicate on the review page that the vote was cast for Bush instead.",2645,65623,00.html,2645,65757,00.html

The vote rigging in Ohio has not gone unoticed by the Ohio Green, and Libertarian parties. The Ohio Democratic party has also demanded a recount.

Kenneth Blackwell who was the cochair of Bush's reelection campaign has also been leading efforts to cover up his vote rigging efforts as Secretary of State in Ohio.

The black box voting in Florida has also been noticed by Steven Freeman a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania. The boxes were rigged by hackers brought
in by Bush operatives in several rural counties where they thought they could get away with it. A team of computer security consultants needs to be hired in Florida to scrutinize
irregularities in the software code that would indicate which voting machines were hacked.
Re: The Vote Was Rigged In Ohio and Florida

There was an elaborate conspiracy to hack the voting machines in Florida that centered around Florida Republican Representative Tom Feeney, and a group of programmers. The Democratic Party
also plans to examine how Blackwell rigged the
vote in Florida.,1282,-4656859,00.html
The FBI and Independent IT Consultants Need To Examine The Black Box Voting In Ohio and
21 Dec 2004
Representative John Conyers has called for an
FBI investigation of allegations of software hacking on voting machines in Ohio. The investigation must also be expanded to include several suspicious voting machine problems in Florida, that may indicate
an inside hack by Republican black box hackers.

There was some code written in Florida for Representative Tom Feeney, by programmer
Clint Curtis. The codes was designed to make
sure that Bush's vote totals increased in Florida,
so that a repeat of the 2000 election would not
occur in Florida. Data from several of the exit polls compiled by a Berkeley research group indicate that there were as many as 130,000 hacked votes in Florida.

There was another incident in Ohio where Michael
Barbian a technician for Triad Governmental systems applied a software patch that probably
rigged a series of voting machines for Bush. An FBI, or independent investigation is needed to examine whether the code was rigged for Bush.

In Lucas County Ohio a suspicious pattern surfaced on several optical scanners that indicate that the machines were hacked. According to Richard Hayes Phillips: " It is my professional opinion that the election in Lucas County was rigged, most likely by altering the vote totals in each ward by a percentage chosen for that ward, plus or minus, based upon voting patterns in past elections. The optical scanners used in Lucas County were not precinct-based. They were of the central count variety. The results could have been altered without anybody at the precinct level knowing about it. If turnout had been equal in
Toledo and the suburbs, Kerry’s plurality in Lucas County would have been considerably larger.
There is an old adage that says elections are stolen at the precinct level. This election was rigged at the ward and county levels."

An investigation of the vote hacking in Ohio, and
Florida needs to occur to prevent further hacking in the future, and to restore integrity in the system. If software hacking is found in the voting machines in Ohio, and Florida then criminal charges need to filed.,2645,66072,00.html,2645,66002,00.html
