BUILDING A MOVEMENT FOR JOBS & JUSTICE, NOT WAR!

PUBLIC FORUM

Monday, Dec. 13 @ 7:00 PM
HARTFORD
Grace Church
55 New Park Avenue

Free and open to the public

The U.S. war on Iraq will have cost the people of the U.S. over $152 billion by the end of 2004. That doesn't begin to measure the human cost - over 1,200 U.S. soldiers and 100,000 Iraqis killed. And it doesn't measure the
human cost to our community when there is money for killing but no money for jobs, education and healthcare.

Come hear national and local activists discuss the road ahead: How do we build a peoples' movement that can stop this bloody war and fight for justice here at home?

* Brenda Stokely is an activist in the trade union, Black liberation and anti-war movements. Stokely is President of AFSCME District Council 1707, AFL-CIO, which represents 30,000 workers in the human service sector. Stokely is also a founding member of NYCLAW (New York City Labor Against the War) and the Northeast Regional Co-Organizer for the Million Worker March.

* Leslie Feinberg is managing editor of Workers World newspaper, a co-founder of Rainbow Flags for Mumia, national organizer for the International Action Center and author of "Stone Butch Blues," "Transgender
Warriors" and "Trans Liberation-Beyond Pink or Blue."
She is also Chair of the UAW's national Queer Caucus.

* ALSO: Report-back from Connecticut United for Peace state-wide conference, counter-recruitment in Hartford schools, and more . . .

Why do some people accuse President Bush of wanting a draft? Wasn't it the Democrats who tried to push bills through, including Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY), who didn't even vote for his own bill ?
