Let Somerville Decide!
In a recent controversy, Mayor Curtatone worked to block an anti-Israel resolution in the Somerville Board of Aldermen. Then, despite Massachusetts ethics regulations, Curtatone took an all-expenses paid trip to Israel as payola from the American Jewish Congress-Council for World Jewry. This organization is a major
component of the Zionist lobby, which is more loyal to Israel than to Somerville or even to the USA. The lobby never addresses real issues
but uses cheap villification as its standard tactic to quash debate.
The Somerville Divestment Project is a grassroots effort currently collecting signatures for the Responsible Investment Ballot Petition
seeking local divestment from Apartheid Israel. Last week Curtatone forced the Somerville Arts Council to ban the Somerville Divestment
Project from the ArtBeat Festival coming up on July 16th.
Regardless of where one stands on the issue, it is an underhanded maneuver for the pro-Israel lobby to force Somerville residents to
invest public funds in their pet project while it actively works to prevent Somerville voters from having a say about it. Mayor Curtatone
caters to traitors. He is more loyal to Israel than to fundamental American principles.

"Apartheid Israel"??? It is the ARABS who have created an entire arc of countries which are Judenrein. Jews, Christians, Samaritans, Sunnis, Shias, Maronites, etc. all live together in chaos within Israel. But in ARAB countries, the Copts, the Maronites, the Ba'hais are killed on whim, subject to dhimmi status and the Jizya. What kind of truth is this blatant bias reflecting? Goebbels idea of how the Middle East is composed? |

They lied then and they're lying now.
But seriously, why divestment NOW, when there's a better prospect for peace than at any time in the past 30 years?
The simple answer, is that the "divestment folks" don't really want peace, they want the destruction of Israel. |

The comments here are absurd. Why shouldn't residents of Somerville get to decide if their public funds should be invested in "Israel Bonds"? Isn't the massive "foreign aid" Israel gets from our tax base enough? Do they need more to fund more spying in the U.S.? Or is it that they're not making enough selling weapons to China? And what exactly do Mexicans have to do with this issue? Do you know how many Israelis end up working illegaly in the U.S. on their tourist visas? |

Richard's post includes denial about Israel's nature and legal system of second class status for non-Jews. Why is this not subject to the posting policy? Such denial is certainly anti-Arab. So is the misleading propaganda that Arabs created "Judenrein" states, when in fact, in places such as Iraq, it was Zionist terror that drove out much of the Jewish Community. As Rabbi Feldman of Naturi Karta was quoted in the AP recently at a Boston protest, the Palestinians had no problem with Jews until Zionism. And the same is largely true about Arab countries in general.
Now, who is the one mimicking Goebbels, Richard? Yes, the Zionists and Nazis have a lot in common. Building their ethnic-supremacist genocidal society on a pack of lies is just one of many points in common. |
