Romney menaces Muslims, immigrants and international students; Governor calls for wholesale profiling |

Romney, as well as scores of Republicans and Democrats alike, despite their various orientations, are fast scrambling to forestall an independent multinational class-wide movement especially after Katrina nakedly exposed before the whole world the utter uselessness of the capitalist system.
On September 14, speaking at the right-wing Heritage Foundation’s national office in Washington D.C., Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney declared, “How many individuals are coming to our state and going to those institutions who have come from terrorist-sponsored states?” referring to international students who attend the 120 colleges and universities in Massachusetts. “Do we know where they are? Are we tracking them?” |

He added, “How about people who are in settings-mosques, for instance-that may be teaching doctrines of hate and terror. Are we monitoring that? Are we wiretapping? Are we following what’s going on?” He also called for the “monitoring” and “tracking” of immigrants (www.boston.com).
Romney called for even more wholesale repression than current provisions in the Patriot Act which already allow the monitoring of international students and the violation of scores of civil liberties. Thousands of people of Middle Eastern origin, Muslims, South Asians and others have been harassed, imprisoned or deported under Patriot Act provisions often for a simple accusation of being a ‘terrorist.’ This continues daily across the United States resulting in families being torn apart, businesses destroyed, health problems and more (www.adc.org).
Thus Romney’s threats are very real and shouldn’t be taken as just conservative rhetoric.
A militant, courageous response
Furious over Romney’s racist, chauvinist and outrageous wholesale profiling proposal, the Muslim American Society immediately issued a press release denouncing Romney and called for a press conference at the governor’s office Sept. 16. The Boston chapter of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation sponsored the action with the Islamic Society of Boston, the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, the Massachusetts Immigration Refugee Advocacy Coalition, the American Civil Liberties Union and the American Friends Service Committee (www.masnet.org).
“As religious, community, and student leaders, we expect far more from our elected officials. Your remarks have failed us,” said Caline Jarudi, director of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, reading from a letter of protest signed by 21 organizations directed at Romney. The letter demanded an apology and a public retraction of his profiling statements.
A Romney spokesperson accepted the letter from the delegation but told them the governor refuses to retract his comments.
Romney himself repeated this throughout the Sept. 16 weekend at various press conferences and other events. He even appeared on “The O’Reilly Factor” Sept. 16.
“When it comes to protecting our citizens, there is no place for political correctness,” Romney said at an unrelated press conference. “We should be doing more in terms of intelligence and counterterrorism in the state to protect ourselves from terrorists. We spend a lot of our resources thinking about response, but response can't protect us. We have to be able to prevent attacks.”
This most recent declaration of war by Romney follows on the heels of scores of attacks against progressive individuals and organizations during his term and before.
Romney supports the death penalty, mandatory and so-called “three strikes” sentencing, voucher schools, welfare ‘reform,’ pro de-regulation, is anti-abortion and viciously anti-union.
Romney, in his zeal to abolish same-sex marriage in Massachusetts, the only state to legalize this legal and human right, works closely with organizations such as Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council.
He has worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security and repressive agencies of the state and federal governments to build a “fusion center,” in Framingham, Massachusetts where a high percentage of Afro-Brazilians reside. This “center” is a clearinghouse where all forms of local, state and national repressive agencies work in tandem to terrorize the working class and oppressed through eavesdropping, wiretapping, video monitoring and the like.
A similar command center was built before the 2004 Democratic National Convention in downtown Boston at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority with the full complicity of the Democratic Party.
The Romney’s
Willard “Mitt” Romney is a blue-blood son and a proud member of the neo-conservative wing of the capitalist class.
His father, George Wilcken Romney, now deceased, was a politically-connected capitalist powerhouse for decades.
Romney Sr.’s “heritage” began in the 1930s when he was a Washington D.C. lobbyist for Alcoa. Proving his mettle to the ruling class, he was then appointed to the lead the Automotive Council for War Production during WWII. After the war he worked as an executive for Nash-Kelvinator which merged with Hudson to become American Motors Corporation in 1954. Romney Sr. became chair of AMC.
From 1963-69, a time of mass rebellions in Detroit’s (and other Michigan cities) streets and industries especially automotive where Black workers in organizations such as DRUM led scores of militant actions, he was Michigan governor.
After an attempted presidential run in 1968, Romney Sr. was appointed Housing and Urban Development Secretary in 1969 by Richard Nixon and left this position in 1973 whereupon he worked for various corporations until his death in 1995. Like his son, Romney Sr. was a lifelong member of the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (http://en.wikipedia.org).
Mitt Romney, an aspiring 2008 Republican presidential candidate, is a graduate of Brigham Young and Harvard universities and from 1978 to 1984 he was a Vice President of Bain & Company, Inc., the Boston-based management consulting firm.
In 1984 Romney Jr. founded Bain Capital, a now $17 billion venture capital and investment company that has founded, acquired or invested in hundreds of companies including UniSource Worldwide, the leading marketer and distributor of commercial printing and business imaging papers, packaging systems and facility supplies and equipment with one of largest private trucking fleets (2,000 trucks) in North America with over 100 distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada.
Other Bain investments include low-wage super-exploitative corporations that employ majority people of color and women such as Dominos, Toys R’ Us, Burger King, Staples, and various “Dollar” stores.
From 1999-02 Romney was also CEO of the Salt Lake Organzing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics (www.mass.gov).
Build the multinational, class-wide independent movement!
It is no coincidence that Romney and other Heritage Foundation protégé’s like Edwin Meese III are now increasingly whipping up racist and chauvinist hysteria just at a time of increasing unity between the working class and nationally oppressed in the wake of Katrina and the building movement against the U.S. war against Iraq and domestically.
Heritage is the most well funded right-wing think tank receiving most of its capital from the Bradley Foundation and is the most politically connected to the White House and Congress (www.bradleyfdn.org). The Foundation’s blueprint for the “reconstruction” of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area reads like a capitalist vulture’s wildest dreams (www.mediatransparency.org) (www.heritage.org).
In order for these parasites to profit off the misery, death and destruction of millions of working class and oppressed people in this country and internationally they must sell fear, sow division and fracture any unity and solidarity that exists for an independent multinational class-wide people’s movement to arise and consolidate.

well Zim Israeli Navigation did pack up and run from the World Trade Centers after 30years in the building on september 6th, breaking thier lease which would concern me that they were the ones who packed the buildings with explosives.
A top Israeli hijacking comando from was on flight 93 among the "hijackers" which would concern me that he was part of the plot. Israeli companies such as odigo were warned to clear out before the demolitions, a courtesy only extended to top brass CEOs, israelis and Coni Rice.
Mossad agents have a long history(to long to fit in here) of blowing up people, planes and buildings and framing arabs for it.
I have actually sceen them do this and some day you will realize that you have to. |

Your "top Israeli commando" has a name: Danny Lewin.
Mr. Lewin co-founded Akamai and was a computer science graduate student at MIT.
He was on the plane because he had a business trip on the west coast.
He had military training because, guess what, it's mandatory for all Israeli citizens.
Anyone who posits that he was an Israeli agent activated to hijack a plane is a fucking moron.

The kind of bigoted rants about arabs and muslims one hears these days are in NO WAY, I repeat NO WAY different from the hatred that has previously been directed at Jews by real anti-Semites (meaning people who dislike Jews because they are Jewish, not people who dislike Israel and Zionism because those are racist.)
Instead of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, they use the 95% fictional report of the Kean/Zelikow 9-11 Commission to justify provoking mass hysteria and hatred against a group of people.

What Israelis call "business" most people on earth call murder. Thanks for the details on this guy who trained in camps in the middle east on the hijacking of airplanes. If as you say every Israeli has military training then we should begin survaillence of every Israeli now.
We should start monitoring that corporation and the synagogue that hijacking commando belonged ASAP. |

Non of the groups that you mentioned are targeting Americans. Only Muslims are targeting Americans. Therefore, Muslims and the evil rhetoric of death and destruction of innocents that emanates from their mosques should be kept under close supervision.
