SUPPORT THE TROOPS FOR REAL: PROTEST THE WAR TO BRING THEM HOME ALIVE
SUPPORTING A WAR BASED ON LIES IS SCREWING THE TROOPS

REMAINING SILENT AND NOT CRITICIZING THE WAR HURTS THE TROOPS BECAUSE IT ALLOWS PUBLIC SUPPORT TO BE USED AN EXCUSE TO KEEP THE TROOPS IN HARM’S WAY IN AN UNJUST WAR THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SENT TO FIGHT AT ALL. IF YOU REALLY SUPPORT OUR TROOPS THEN GET UP, STAND UP, SPEAK OUT AND PROTEST THE WAR!!!!!!

YOU, MR. BUSH, ARE THE TRAITOR TO DECENT AMERICAN VALUES!!!!!!
REMAINING SILENT AND FAILING TO CRITICIZE AN UNJUST WAR BASED ON LIES AND FIXED INTELLIGENCE IS CATEGORICALLY UNPATRIOTIC!!!!!!

I QUESTION YOUR PATRIOTISM, MR. BUSH. YOU DISHONOR OUR TROOPS!!!

2062 TROOPS NOW DEAD IN VAIN
OVER 15,000 WOUNDED:
FACES BLOWN OFF, LEGS, ARMS OR HANDS SEVERED, LIVES RUINED

ATTN READER: If you find editing errors in my writing, my apologies because I make my share of typographical and grammatical errors but the way I figure it, as long as I don’t have to deal with editors, I’m pretty satisfied and happy with this postings. I’m not terribly fond of editors. As far as making the hyperlinks as part of the text, my apologies, reader, I haven’t done it and that it is a combination of the fact that I am both lazy and short on time these days. It is long as usual, so I haven’t kept any of my promises this posting but I guess this is just the way I am meant to do it. I thought the last two pieces were the best I had ever written until I wrote this piece….So anyway, enjoy the read!!!
READ, QUESTION, LEARN, THINK, REFLECT, WEIGH, DECIDE, ENJOY! READ!

I’d like to dedicate this posting to my Grandmother’s memory, Avis Payne Callman, who passed away on Thanksgiving Day three years ago. Most of us in our family think she actively planned to pass away on Thanksgiving Day to bring the whole family together for Thanksgiving……that’s how shrewd was this woman. I sure do miss her….but I wage the good fight she would have too. I’d also like to dedicate this posting to Samuel Payne, her brother and my great uncle, a man who fought on the beaches of Normandy during WWII who passed away one year ago today, November 13. In remembrance of this Veterans Day, this past Friday, November 11, 2005 this posting is also dedicated to all those who have served, died and those who continue to serve in Iraq and those who have died with honor but in vain in this needless, unjust war. I honor you with the truth.

This next article by Stewart Nusbaumer is interesting and I agree with him. Writing must in some way, at some level, emotionally engage the reader, draw them into what is being said, and send a shock wave through their psyche that emotional charges them in the hopes of driving them into action. Although Antonio Gramsci was a Communist and I am most certainly not a Communist, what Antonio Gramsci did was discover the incredible power of writing that is first emotional and second rational. Rational arguments have not, in history, moved people to action but arguments first emotional and second rational almost always move people into action and that is the goal in the Jeffersonian tradition

Why do we continue to stay in Iraq when it is clear that we are causing the problem?
Our current involvement in Iraq was based solely on lies for there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction, no connections to al-Qaeda or September 11, and Iraq was clearly contained before our invasion. The war was sold on false pretenses and intelligence fixed to support a pre-conceived policy, all to disastrous ends including the soiling of America's noble reputation in the world, the draining of our tax dollars which could be better spent on investing in the public domain, the increase of feelings of resentment in the Middle East that serve as a recruiting agent to the ranks of Osama Bin Laden, regional instability, the isolation of the United States in the world diplomatically, and the recent milestone of 2,000 brave U.S. troops killed in combat as well as an estimated 130,000 Iraqi's according to the esteemed British medical journal, The Lancet.

The War on Iraq is the worst strategic disaster to befall the United States. Its effects will be felt for decades to come and that is how harshly history shall remember George Bush
as the man and the President who soiled America and destroyed her noble reputation.
If you want to continue to lash yourself to the mast Mr. Bush, then you and America will pay the price for it as you take a lot down with you on this rapidly sinking ship ablaze. http://fairuse.1accesshost.com/news2/long-iraq.html

THE OCCUPATION IS THE PROBLEM NOT THE SOLUTION AND THOSE WHO SAY WE CANNOT JUST LEAVE BECAUSE TO DO SO WOULD BE IRRESPONSIBLE ARE, WHETHER THEY REALIZE IT OR NOT, ENABLERS OF OPPRESSION, TORTURE, MASS MURDER THUS CAUSING THE PROBLEM.

BE IT KNOWN:
TO THOSE WHO SAY WE CANNOT LEAVE, I SAY, RIVERS OF BLOOD DRIP FOR YOUR MURDEROUS HANDS EVEN IF YOU WERE AGAINST THE WAR!!!!
THE MOST MORAL, RESPONSIBLE COURSE OF ACTION IS TO WITHDRAW ALL TROOPS IMMEDIATELY AND LET IRAQI’S SOLVE THIS ON THEIR OWN.
It is the best of bad choices. Get it through your head, folks, there are no good options or happy endings in this tale. That is why it is the greatest strategic disaster in U.S. foreign policy history. No matter what we do, many Iraqi men, women and children are going to die horrible deaths and all troops who died, died for nothing, that is the truth in a nutshell.
FOR THE TROOPS SAKE, END THE MADNESS AND BRING THEM HOME NOW!
IT IS THE BEST OF BAD CHOICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TO SUPPORT THIS WAR IS UNPATRIOTIC AND EQUAL TO SPITTING IN THE FACES OF THE TROOPS BY FORCING THEM TO DIE IN AN UNWINNABLE WAR. HONOR THEM BY BRINGING THEM HOME ALIVE, UNSCATHED NOW!!

BRING THEM HOME NOW may sound like a simple answer to a complex problem but if you read the three articles closely above you will find how “bring them home now” addresses the true complexity of the situation in Iraq and is clearly the best of bad options. However, because I believe it worthwhile to pay heed to opposing points of view, David L. Mack, in this following article disagrees with immediate withdrawal arguing that we can stabilize Iraq before we leave. Again, that assumes that our forces bring order and what I am saying is opposite that, that our forces bring chaos and are the principle cause of the violence, the chaos, the civil war, and the regional instability, and is especially bad for our ally in the region, Israel. THE OCCUPATION IS THE PROBLEM, NOT THE SOLUTION. The best to stabilize Iraq is to remove the element that causes the instability which are U.S. forces on the ground. To say we cannot leave because to do so would be irresponsible is a very simple-minded answer to a complex problem and assumes we can stabilize Iraq by staying. But because the Occupation by its very nature causes chaos, those who argue that staying any longer than today essentially have rivers of blood dripping from their filthy hands. WE CANNOT STABILIZE IRAQ, ONLY IRAQIS CAN DO THAT THEMSELVES BECAUSE IT IS OUR PRESENCE THAT CAUSES CONTINUED VIOLENCE, THUS CAUSING THE PROBLEM AND THUS CONTRIBUTING TO REGIONAL INSTABILITY. A recent poll by the British Ministry of Defense found that 82% of Iraqi’s want the U.S. out of Iraq so I must ask you Mr. Macks, who are we saving these people from by staying one day longer, themselves? We need to save them from the Occupation, we need to save them from our government and get out of Iraq NOW!!! As far as calling in NATO forces, good luck, calling in Arab forces would seem to me to be a better option. If we gradually reduce forces, an idea I think worthy of consideration even though I don’t fully agree, all U.S. forces should be out of country by the end of 2006 and not one day later. We should demand at least 10,000 – 20,000 troops out per month but I still think all out now is the best choice.
Anyway, here is David L. Macks article:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4432332.stm
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/644457.html

Exiting from Iraq and ending the occupation is best for Israel. Regional instability threatens Israeli security so to withdraw all u.s. forces now can only be good for Israeli security since u.s. forces on the ground in Iraq are causing the insurgency to grow thus destabilizing regional security. For the best interest of our ally Israel, BRING THE TROOPS HOME ALIVE NOW!!!!!

War reparations are an interesting idea, however, the only solution I see offered in this article basically says let’s just throw money at the problem and I don’t think that’s going to work unless stability can be managed first. To create stability like the Marshall Plan would mean that you would have to put adequate number of troops on the ground, 500,000 or so to stabilize the country two years ago. Now I think we are past that point so even if we had 500,000 which we don’t, I still think it wouldn’t work. Maybe reparations could be issued later after we pullout, the vacuum of power and ensuing violence is played-out, until the fittest of the factions claim power and institute a government, maybe then reparations could work but just to throw money at a country in current civil war as a result of the Occupation or a vacated country free of Occupation enduring a power-struggle to determine who rules is NOT THE TIME to issue reparations….because it’ll just be used to buy weapons and little else. After stability is achieved, then reparations might work but not until:

THE WAR ON IRAQ IS MAKING AMERICA MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO ATTACK
THE WAR ON IRAQ IS CREATING MORE TERRORISTS. BY REMAINING IN IRAQ, WE ARE LOSING THE PROSECUTION TO CURTAIL TERRORISM
http://www.newamerica.net/templets/Documents/print.cfm?pg=article&DocID=
Although I take very, very serious issue with the notion that a “war” on terrorism even exists or is even possible because it is impossible to declare war on a tactic, this next article is pretty good at mapping out some of the reasons why we are failing to curtail terrorism in the world. The “war” on terrorism is only as real and as valid as the “war” on criticism; it is not a war at all despite cheap, meaningless rhetoric out of blowhards in Washington. When you hear the phrase “war” on terrorism, be sure to take a few good whiffs of the air before reminding yourself that no-one farted, its just the rhetorical bullshit getting deeper. The only “war” on terrorism is the horse-shit stacked 6-feet high and stamped with a presidential seal that flows from the mouth of a liar and a traitor.

Keep the Federal national military out of disaster response, that is insane and a major threat to democracy. Furthermore, return National Guard units to exclusive State control.

What plan for rebuilding Iraq? The Bush administration doesn’t do plans, and only recently started doing body counts, they do shock and awe type spin. Well, sir, I am neither shocked nor awed except for perhaps, I am shocked and awed only by the ceaseless blather and shocking stupidity of the neo-conservative movement and your lack of war-planning. The Bush administration and the war in Iraq is terrible for American business:
http://www.antiwar.com/engelhardt/?articleid=7918

Hear about the Iraqi Constitution passing? Great news, right! Wrong. Terrible news. The Iraqi constitution is a recipe for Iraqi civil war. I’ll bet you dollars to donuts the Bush Administration rigged the elections because they want the appearance of democracy not the substance of democracy. You see when dealing with people like Bush and the neo-cons, folks, you really have to treat them like they treated the Fourth Amendment: EVISCERATE THEM!!! TAKE NO PRISONERS!!! PUMMEL THEM INTO DUST!!
http://www.thestate.com/mld/thestate/13035298.htm
Some would say that kicking a wounded political figure when he’s down is kinda low but when good troops are dying in combat for a lie in a needless war, refused to be brought home which betrays them even more, one must rhetorically run such political figures down, then back up rhetorically, run them over again, then forward over them again to ensure the job is properly done. If they are the captains of the ship, we are the submarine commanders. We have a firing solution plotted, our forward bays are flooded and our bay doors are open. My words are torpedoes and I have many armed ones left to fire.
If you’re wondering why your boat is sinking, Mr. Bush, I can tell you that it is in part because reality set in while I and people like me are plugging your hull full of holes. You can call us the Progressive-Libertarian Wolf-pack for peace. NOW FIRE AWAY!!!
Don’t plan on a rebound Mr. Bush, your ship is going down, like it or not. Deal with it.

However, it is simply not enough to fire torpedoes or for that matter, simply stay on the sidelines and passively watch Bush implode, one must also plant seeds. We cannot solely deconstruct that which we do not think is right, we must put forth alternative solutions, alternative ideas, alternative realities. We must be in the business of constructing what we think is just at the same time that we deconstruct that which we think is unjust. Any Tom, Dick, Harry, Jane, Jill or Amy can criticize, but who can innovate new solutions to today’s complex problems? I think I can and, what’s more, is I think you can too. I hope my recent articles make you think and think big. DREAM AND DREAM BIG!!!!

Paul Hackett in particular, I really like this guy, granted Sherrod Brown is a progressive too, but Hackett has the cajones to tell it like it is and I like that. Besides, isn’t it fun to watch members of the DLC and Republican senators piss their own shorts? I think so.
I like all of Paul Hackett’s positions; I too support every amendment of the Bill of Rights.
I support the Bill of Rights in its entirety on principle alone, not just the amendments I like, that is why, though it may surprise you, I voted against San Francisco Proposition H.

No, Mr.O’Reilly, San Francisco is a part of this country and we will do what we can to change it for the better and contribute whether you like it or not so deal with it, pal!!!!! Any questions, O’Reilly? Get it through your thick head, WE are Americans too!!!!!!!!
Why did you endorse a terrorist attack against the USA? Are you a terrorist sympathizer?

THESE 2 ARTICLES ARE DEFINITELY, TOTALLY, ESSENTIAL MUST READS,
Brilliant analysis, Professor David Orr of Oberlin, simply brilliant:
http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0112-36.htm
http://www.commondreams.org/views05/1102-26.htm
An essential excerpt from Professor Orr’s article:
“There will be, at best, a small window of opportunity to set the country on course again and restore a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, not one for the wealthy few. Equality before the law, transparency, accountability, competence, and foresight are the standards for good governance. The first order of business will be to restore a truer democracy and greater participation in public life now more characteristic of European countries than our own. That will require, in one way or another, reducing the power of money in U.S. politics and rebuilding a fair tax system. We will need to quickly regain public control over the public airwaves beginning with the restoration of the fairness doctrine, tossed out by the Reagan administration in 1987. We will need to take immediate steps to implement energy efficiency and solar power, long known to be technically feasible, economically advantageous, and the antidote for adverse climate change. We must get America on track again, rebuilding a national rail system that will reduce our dependence on imported oil while reversing urban sprawl. We will need policies to rebuild blighted urban areas and restore widespread prosperity to rural areas-flip sides of the same coin. We will need to rebuild federal, state, and private capacity to protect our common air, water, lands, and natural heritage. And we will need a foreign policy once again grounded in international law and a decent respect for the opinions of humankind.
Most important, however, we will need to be summoned back to greatness and away from fear, division, culture wars, and greed. We need a renewed sense of an inclusive America and what it means to be an American. At our best we are a democratic people governed by law. We are a pragmatic people, adept at solving problems. And if wisely led, we can be a compassionate people capable of acting on behalf of the less fortunate and for posterity. It was once said that America is the last best hope of humankind, and perhaps one day we will live up to that standard.”

Education is our best asset. The world is waiting, so step forward.
I think I’m going to brush up on some Montesquieu since its been a few years; I think a little Rousseau, Locke, Hume and Voltaire to re-read is also good too.
I hope you choose to explore these authors too; they were all required reading for me some years ago in college and are necessary to understanding the philosophies that under-gird our Republic which brought both our democracy into existence and which sparked the far-more sweeping and far-reaching historical event known as the French Revolution.

Family values are honesty, moral courage, integrity, character and unconditional LOVE.
HATE IS NOT A FAMILY VALUE!!!!!!!! NEITHER IS DISCRIMINATION.
America is a melting-pot culture known for the ingenuity of its citizenry and its immense diversity. WE SHOULD STRIVE TO CELEBRATE OUR DIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!
Straight people can get married, why can’t gay people? We are citizens, patriots and tax-payers too. We are people like you, some secular, some not, who also serve our country thus deserve EQUALITY under the law. Frankly, I fail to see how fighting the injustice of segregation of color is any different from fighting the injustice of the segregation of sexual-orientation. What is a Right for one should be a Right for all. And if some African-American leaders are offended by my equaling the gay-rights movement to the American Civil Rights movement, too bad. Separate is not equal: WAGE EQUALITY!
http://www.tompaine.com/articles/20051104/the_family_values_sideshow.php
MORALITY IS ABOUT THE LIVING THE VALUE OF LOVE, NOT OF HATE.
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/110405S.shtml
Morality and sexuality are mutually exclusive; one can be very sexual and also be very moral, and believe me, honey, I know, because I consider myself moral yet I am a slut.
I don’t do monogamy; I’m not interested in imitating heterosexuals. I am who I am.
And if some don’t approve, well, I don’t require your approval…so get over it, honey!

HEAR THIS AND HEAR IT LOUD AND CLEAR: THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS IS RENEWING THE PATRIOT ACT IN FULL MAKING ALL SUNSET PROVISIONS PERMANENT. OVERTURN THE PATRIOT ACT OR VIOLATE IT!!
I am encouraging you to break the law. I am encouraging you to violate the Patriot Act.
I do it ceaselessly in my writings, I mean they could arrest me anytime they want and I hope they do for this may be the price of courage. Every-time I violate the Patriot Act in my writings, I want the U.S. Congress to know that I intentionally give them the finger. I openly commit civil disobedience. RESISTANCE IS NOT FUTILE!!
It’s a good thing you haven’t sent me a National Security Letter that comes with a gag order, Mr. Bush, because I would violate the law and tell everyone about it…..oh yeah, I would stick it to you good and merrily go to jail for it in defense of the First Amendment.
http://alternet.org/blogs/themix/27501/
THE PATRIOT ACT IS CLEARLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
YO CONGRESS: WAD UP YOUR PATRIOT ACT AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS!!
I am not above the law but I know when something is wrong and when to protest even by breaking the law and committing an act of civil disobedience for that is the morally right thing to do. Understand that what is legal is not always right, and conversely, what is illegal is not always wrong. I violate the Patriot Act because, in my view, it is the right thing to do. I do what I do openly without fear, regret or apology. Do what is right!!!

A good first step: Now let’s roll-back ALL, I say again, ALL sunset provisions:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051109/ap_on_go_co/patriot_act
Another good step but all sunset provisions must be allowed to expire:
http://blog.reformthepatriotact.org/
Do you know why we must insist on judicial oversight over the actions of law enforcement and all provisions of the Patriot Act? It is because of the American system of checks and balances, i.e., our democracy. The Executive cannot rule absolutely. There must be adequate oversight of such policy by the judicial branch. This is why all policy and every provision of the Patriot Act must be subject to judicial oversight and review.

Let me be clear about how far I am willing to pursue this “writer’s marathon.” Airborne All the way!!!! If I lose my home and I am left homeless on the streets, I will beg for enough money to buy a writing pad and a pen so I can write and publish once every 3 weeks at the public library. If you send me to prison, I will write it there and have a friend publish it. If you shoot me or send me to Gitmo and torture me you will catapult our cause to bring the troops home into the pubic space at warp speed. And if I land a great job with great pay soon as seems to be happening, if that’s what you plan to hold over my head in some way, that will not work either. Until the troops come home, I will soldier on with the writer’s marathon!! I swear this to my country!! I do this for God, Country and my brothers-in-arms to bring them home. PERSEVERE!!! Bring the troops home and I shut up. Otherwise, I promise you that my pen and my keyboard and the pens and keyboards of others will bring you to your friggin’ knees where you can beg for mercy like a filthy mutt for a doggy-treat. Bringing the Internet under U.N. oversight is a good idea, don’t trust our government:
What will likely happen under our government is Internet content could be restricted to allow American corporate domination of the Internet over this means of mass communication. It is imperative content never be restricted and remain free and open.

Joe Wilson on the recent indictment of I. Lewis Libby:
http://www.commondreams.org/views05/1029-24.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_C._Wilson
Although he does not mention it in the above article, I read somewhere recently another statement by Joe Wilson that was very sobering and very true, allow me to paraphrase: The fact that indictments were brought against a senior member of the office of the Presidency, an occurrence that has not happened since the administration of Ulysses Grant, is not reason to celebrate at all because the fact that an indictment was brought even though it was certainly deserved, defiles the office of the Presidency. What is important to remember, however, is that it is not the indictment that defiles the office of the Presidency but the criminal action which led to the indictment itself that defiles the office of the Presidency. What is also important to remember is that this damaging leak and the character assassination that followed was done to cover-up the lies and the disinformation used to rally a nation into an unjust, un-winnable and unnecessary war that has soiled America’s noble reputation in the world and cost the lives of many troops and civilians needlessly. I fear for this country, Mr. Bush, that you do not surround yourself with people willing to tell it like it is, tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may. Yet, you seem willing to remind people how you are like Ronald Reagan, but sir, you are nothing like Ronald Reagan. Allow me to quote Ronald Reagan for you.

“Surround yourself with best people you can find, delegate authority, and don’t interfere.”
---Ronald Reagan

Remember, a real person was real hurt when the cover of this CIA NOC was blown:
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/103105Y.shtml
A career down the drain, national security compromised, a network potentially compromised all in revenge against a man who had the integrity to do what is right for his country by illuminating the lies and the manipulated intelligence that led the country into an unnecessary war that cost the lives of over 2000 troops while wounding 15000.
Shameless. Wrong. Betrayal. And yes, TREASON. This is the Bush Administration.

Since Halliburton and subsidiaries received so much money from so much influence in the VP’s office, maybe we should garnish their profits for the next 30 years to help pay for the Iraq war? http://www.commondreams.org/views05/1105-22.htm

And I. Lewis Libby, well folks, he’s the fall guy, the one who got caught lying by the Grand Jury but let us be crystal clear: the pattern of lies, of distorting and manipulating intelligence to build a bogus case for war goes well beyond Scooter Libby. It goes deep into the Pentagon, the Office of Special Plans, it runs throughout the neo-conservative movement, and it goes right to the desk of Vice President Dick Cheney who himself made countless visits to the CIA before the war to intimidate intelligence analysts by his very presence into producing desired intelligence to support a bogus case for war. Why deep in the Pentagon? Who do you think has the most to gain by keeping the corrosive threat to democracy known as the military-industrial-complex artificially afloat? Guess.

Nice article, Mr. Begala, the only statement of yours I take issue with is this one: “But at least history can give the Clinton team a clean bill of ethical health.” NOT BLOODY LIKELY. That is, until Madeleine Albright and others are hauled in front of the International Criminal Court and held accountable for the deaths of over 500,000 children under the age of 5 in Iraq given the sanctions imposed at that time for the mere purpose of hoped-for regime change, the ethical health of the Clinton administration is still in serious question. Quotation from the article:
“There must be a wider investigation into the totality of the criminal conspiracy undertaken by the Bush administration to defraud Congress and the American people about the issue of war with Iraq, and in particular the case used to justify the invasion of that country. The crime that was committed goes far beyond the outing of a rogue diplomat's CIA-affiliated spouse, as serious as that charge may be. The deliberate and systematic manner in which the Bush administration, from the president on down, peddled misleading, distorted and fabricated information to Congress and the American people represents a frontal assault on the very system of government the United States of America proclaims to champion.”

In addition to all the troops who have died in Iraq, remember that many additional troops have also died in hospitals upon their return from Iraq and some have died by dealing with the demons left over from Iraq caused by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder so the actual number of troops that have died as a result of Iraq is likely much greater than 2062.

NOT IN MY NAME
13 Nov 2005
I am a United States serviceman who will be going to Iraq in 3 months. I want you to know that I disapprove of your protests as do most of my fellow servicemen and women. I am here to tell you that what you do is NOT IN MY NAME nor in the names of any of my peers. The war in Iraq was necessary, and is worth the hard work and sacrifice.

John,
Be safe and thanks for the courage to help others!

Actually, John, I don't care if you approve of what we do.

You are going off to fight an illegal war where attrocities are being committed against innocent people, war crimes are common place, and children are being murdered. So, why should I care if you want us to protest or not. I do not support troops who go off to murder and hide behind their ignorance and loyalty to murderous thugs. So, John, if you go, consider not coming back.

That's the left over 1960s mentality of the so called anarchists on this site. You can't define what a legal or illegal war is, let alone articulate why you think it is so. Go back to your pot smoking, useless life and don't even pretend that you know what you're talking about.

He or she is probably one of those brainless idiots who cheered when the twin towers fell. Don't be bothered by him or her. It's the drugs.
Illegal War
13 Nov 2005
The war qualifies as an unprovoked invasion which is illegal under international law. The UN did not approve of the war.

Moreover, the war was illegal from a Constitutional point of view. Congress did not declare war on Iraq. The information used to support the reason for a war was fabricated.

The real reason for the war is to gain control of Iraq's oil and use it (as every crises in the US since Bush took power is used) to transfer funds from the Treasury into corporations with close ties to the Bush crime family.

War Crimes:

Chemical weapons used to indiscriminately murder civilians, violations of the Geneva Convention, torture, rape, murder of POWs,...

US Soldiers take an oath to uphold the Constitution and defend it. Any American soldier who willfully does Bush's bidding in this war is in violation of that oath.

Moreover, the Nuremberg trials made it clear that soldiers cannot follow illegal orders without being criminals themselves.

Supporting US soldiers in the war on Iraq is supporting warcrimes. No ethical person can support those committing war crimes.

Finally, under Rumsfeld, the US military has taken on many of the roles formerly given to the FBI in terms of COINTELPRO, spying on Americans, and domestic espionage. As such, the US Military has become an enemy of the American people and does not deserve the support of the American people.

Actually, in the 19 resolutions that Iraq violated prior to the invasion, the UN did approve so you can pick any one of these to give it so called "legality." However, keep in mind that the UN never has and never should allow the UN to dictate what it does internationally. Also, the UN never approved of the Kosovo invasion. Why don't you bitch about that? Oh yes, because the hero of the left, Bill Clinton, ordered it.

Murdering innocent women and children is neither helping anyone nor is brave.

I can see some of your points but i disagree with your opinions on the war being unjust and that you should be protesting against the war to truly support the soldiers. First of all the reason we went into the war is to stop terroism by making sure that weapons of mass distruction dont get into the hands of terroist because they could use them on us (the U.S.). If we didnt go into war and terroist did get their hands on theese weapons and we had another terroist attack on America like september 11th then people would be complaining because the government had threats of theese weapons but didn't do anything about them. I know that war is a terrible thing because a lot of people die but the soldiers joined the Army because they want to fight for our country, they know going into the army that there is a chance of them dieing (which is why the soldiers are so amazing). So even though there may be a lot of soldiers dieing (as in any war) its better then having an attack on our own land killing a lot of innocent sivillians. Second of all Protesting against the war and saying constantly that we shouldnt be in it doesnt help the soldiers who are in it if anything it shows you dont support them because they are hearing all theese people from home saying that we shouldnt be in it but yet they are there risking their lives for the the same cause. They are bound to get distracted and to think "Why are we over here if everyone at home is saying we shouldnt be." I'm sure they take it personally. Thats all I have to say, i hope i didnt affend anyone.

Murder is not condoned or tolerated by the US military. Those caught will be tried and convicted, as it should be. US military members are the best trained and educated in the world and do have the ability to ignore any order that he/she feels is unlawful.
