It's interesting for jdm to call the SL/SYC culty since they were among the first to take up Mumia's case in 1987 and continue to do so throught the PDC. That's not exactlt 'culty'. By the way is this the sum of his/her political wisdom about publicity for a case of immense interest to the international working class involving American's most important political prisoner.

Mumia, a political prisoner? oh, I didn't realize shooting a cop in the head, getting caught with the firearm, having the cop's bullet taken out of his body, and then conjuring up multiple conspiracy fantasies makes a person a "political prisoner". try reading all the court docs of the numerous spurious appeals on this case (danielfaulkner.com) and then form an opinion. That, or just be an uninformed blithering idiot who dogmatically follows an agenda despite the true facts of the case.

someone has come forward and admitted to shooting the cop. and even if he did shoot the cop? he was beating the shit out of Mumia's brother. what would you do, ask the cop nicely to stop? the real issue here is that Mumia did not recieve a fair trial. multiple black jurors were dismissed leaving and all white jury. these black folks were dismissed because it was feared that they worul not be impartial, however, a white man who expressly said that he wanted to see Mumia in jail was not dismissed.

If what noah says is to be taken as fact, then Mumia could never receive a fair tria,l since there would be either whites or blacks on the jury, and each would vote according to his race.

Here's a little legal primer for you. even if, as you say, the officer was "beating the shit" out of the brother, where is the legal justification for deadly force? Further, you forgot to mention the other defenses that were thrown up and proven to be completely false. Did you forget the "hooker witness" who said she saw the whole thing, and that only years later her story was tolsd by a third party? Oh yeah, that "hooker witness" turned out to be already deceased at the time of the homicide. Or did you forget to mention the witness, from his jail cell, who stated that he saw the whole thing go down and even knew the reasons for the killing of the officer? Bad luck for Mumia, that "witness" apparently had the world's greatest vision, since he was, at the time of the incident, incarcerated in the Penn. Pen, hundreds of miles away from Phili. in regards to your issue of blacks being removed from the jury, if this happened, why was no Batson (Batson v. Kentucky) appeal successful? If it is so cut and dried, shouldn't he have won on this? Under a Habe proceeding, it may be raised. In fact, there have been something like one hundred seperate legal appeals filed on the case, and not only did he lose on virtually all of them at every level of the court system, defense counsel has been repeatedly sanctioned for filing frivolous appeals. And now, another person (who just happens to be a lifer) now, all of a sudden, after how many years, decides he did it all. Sometimes, the simplist answer is the right answer. Mumia shot and killed the cop. All the rest is conspiracy and agenda chasing.

Bryant George from Revolution Books has a great take on the Mumia Case:

1) Mumia did not shoot that cop.
2) And he had a good reason for doing so.

keeper, we're arguing the same thing here. i never said that mumia shot the cop i just said he had a reason for doing so if he did.
