Project: Think Different seeks ten young people (age 16-19) for their new Media Watch Team
-----------------------
Project: Think Different is seeking ten outstanding youth ages 16-19 to join our Media Watch Team. Our Media Watch Team is a group of 10 youth paid and trained to examine various forms of media and to promote media literacy among their peers. Project: Think Different is a nonprofit organization creating a renaissance in music, film, and video that increases civic engagement and inspires people to think DIFFERENTLY and thing BIG about their power to create social change. Participating in the Media Watch team is a great way to allow youth to feel empowered, to have their voices heard, to create change in their local communities, and to gain experience as the next generation of media leaders!

The Media Watch Team will:

* Research and examine media samples, assessing them for negative stereotypes and images.
* Co-facilitate workshops for an interactive media literacy series.
* Peer-lead Take Action Initiatives, promoting media literacy in the community and increasing youth voice in the media.

-----------------------------------------
Please pass the word along to any ambitious, self-motivated, and analytical teens ages 16-19 who are tuned into the media and pop culture. We are open to receiving nominations for exceptional younger candidates given a sufficient level of maturity and the student’s ability to comprise a unique part of our Team. The Media Watch Team application is attached to this email or can be downloaded through our website at www.projectthinkdifferent.org.

Applications should be returned to valerie (at) projectthinkdifferent.org by February 20th, 2006.
