I am sympathetic to your purpose. The purpose of life is for life to know itself. When man comes to know the truth for himslef, he realizes that the joy of simply being is the only real state of content. Not knowing is ignorance. Ignorant action perpetuates a lack of understanding. Only a climate of understanding leads to knowledge of the self. So, may I humbly submit this idea. Put on your own oxygen masks before offering to assist others who need it. The video I just saw does little to further understanding. Do you believe a black picture with angry shouting will somehow translate into joy and knowledge of the self? Or does it serve to stir the anger of others to join a cause that you think is right? Knowing the self is not the same thing as defining the personality of an individual. The self is devoid of personality. The world is the earth's personality and look at the harm man's world has caused nature. How harmful is the individual personality of a man or woman to his or her own body? At any moment, we are all doing the best that our nature and conditioning will allow. Your members ought to start where they can make a real differnce. Start meditating now. We're all better able to help others after we've become responsible for ourselves.
got pepper spray on the lens?

How to fix unwatchable video
04 Oct 2000
It's understandable why this video isn't better, and why we can't see anything.

To be able to see anything other than darkness in an event shot at night (like this one) would require a camera with nightvision. These cameras are considerably more expensive, which means a higher risk (of losing much more money invested) to the owner of the equipment.

If a fund were set up to pay for the repair or replacement of damaged equipment, perhaps we could then afford to use better equipment...which would enable us to deliver better, viewable video.

There are risks involved bringing equipment to these protest events: 1) There's the risk of equipment damage in a scuffle; 2) There the risk that cops may seize a camera and/or tapes if they suspect you caught them doing something illegal (which, needless to say, would be valuable video footage).

What's the chance we could raise enough money to cover equipment damages? If not, then expect to continue getting only unwatchable video in future events.
better online video

on line video tips...
use a lot of light !!!
have someone or a few friends bring flashlights
or video cam light
50 watts of light makes a big difference.
if you have a new video cam with the 'nightshot'
mode you can use glow light sticks to get the needed
light for your shot...
also for online video content try to keep
the frame rate as low as you can...
2 frames a second is fine for most videos.
you can slow down the frame rate at the encoding step.
sometimes it's better to exstract a few still photo's
from the video and just encode the audio.
or use the few good frames and the audio with the
real 'slideshow' encoder...

you hade great content on the audio stream last night
, call in from the debate protest !!!
great work !
I recorded some of it and can email that to you if you don't
have a recording of last nights show...

keep up the great work
indy rules !!!

Hey guys! In case you missed this point we are not getting paid for this, and anyone is welcome to participate. Next protest you can also come down, get pushed by cops, pepper sprayed, then stay up for two days to get breaking news video online, and like some of us did - get your equiptment stolen or damaged by poice!!!!
