TODAY! TELL YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REP. TO VOTE NO ON HR-4681

House Voting on Anti-Palestinian Legislation Today

Please copy, e-mail and distribute this as widely as possible.

The US Campaign, www.endtheoccupation.org, has learned that the House of Representatives will vote today Tuesday, May 9 on HR4681, the Anti-Palestinian Act of 2006. This bill imposes draconian economic and diplomatic sanctions against the Palestinian people for exercising their democratic rights.

TAKE ACTION TODAY! Pick up the phone now to call your Representative and urge a NO vote on HR4681, the Anti-Palestinian Act (talking points below).

To contact your Representative, call the Capitol switchboard toll free at 1-888-355-3588 and ask for your Representative.

TAKE ACTION AGAIN! Despite the US Campaign’s urging to the contrary, this resolution will come up for a vote “under suspension”, meaning that there will be only limited debate and no opportunity for amendments to be offered. This parliamentary procedure is supposed to be reserved for non-controversial legislation such as naming post offices.

Contact Speaker of the House Rep. Dennis Hastert (R-IL) and House Majority Leader Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) and protest to them this misuse of “suspending the rules”. Demand a full and open debate on this controversial legislation and tell them to bring it up under normal procedures.

Call the switchboard toll free at 1-888-355-3588 or the Speaker of the House at 202-225-0600 and the House Majority Leader 202-225-4000.

TALKING POINTS:
Please vote no on HR4681, because it imposes draconian economic and diplomatic sanctions against the Palestinian people for voting, including:

· Restricting US humanitarian aid and potentially eliminating entire US aid projects, such as infrastructure and small business development;
·
· Threatening to withhold a portion of US dues to the United Nations because it maintains bodies that advocate for Palestinian human rights and seek to hold Israel accountable to international law;
·
· Defining territory controlled nominally by the Palestinian Authority as a “terrorist sanctuary”, thereby requiring US businesses to obtain special export licenses for most goods destined for the Occupied Palestinian Territories and gutting the provisions of the US free trade agreement with the West Bank and Gaza;
·
· Refusing visas to members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, even those who belong to political parties that the United States does not classify as “foreign terrorist organizations”;
·
· Restricting the movement of PLO diplomats at the United Nations and threatening to close the PLO’s office in Washington, and;
· Instructing the US representative to the World Bank to use the considerable strength of the United States in international financial institutions to vote against the continuation of humanitarian aid projects.
·

I like this legislation...the people voted in Hamas, which is a terrorist organization. I hear talk about responsibility to stand up against our government, which is not a terrorist organization....why not stand up against a government that is internationally known to be terrorist?

The congressmen are deciding to not send government funds to a terrorist run government...GOOD!

The Congress is hypocritical. All of the Middle East governments (I include the fetid Fatah and horrid Hamas) have dirty hands. I might enjoy nightlife, partying and conversation in Haifa and Tel Aviv more than in Gaza and Cairo, but none of these foreign nations, any of them, should get one dime of US aid. And any defense "commitment" to Egypt and Israel should be rescinded. (We have no defense pact with either nation but everyone knows the US would jump in with the Sixth Fleet and Marines if Israel, Saudi the Gulf States or Egypt were invaded or attacked by missiles from Iran or elsewhere.)

Hamas is a Resistance organization which has held a truce with the current Israeli apartheid terror regime for over a year. Israel by the way was formed by terrorist organizations like Irgun and the Stern Gang. In 1947 almost 800,000 Palestinians were forced off of their land or killed by terrorists. See www.voicesofpalestine.org if you really want to learn more. Today Israel is not a democracy as not everyone is allowed to vote there. Did you know that Ariel Sharon was elected by an 80% majority by those allowed to vote while there was a warrent for his arrest in the Hague for war crimes?
Re: TODAY! TELL YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REP. TO VOTE NO ON HR-4681

Israel was formed by moderate left and democratic socialist forces ce ntered in what was then the Mapai and Mapm parties. These forces used armed units to disrupt and disband the armed guerillas of Irgun and Stern to which your error filled article refers. Any standard history of Israel will confirm this. The Begin Irgun faction did not have any influence in Israel until the early 80's. by that time, even Begin has softened his stance that all of Palestine was subject to Israeli soveriegnty.

Bottom Line: Jews More Willing To Die For Their Country Than Palestinians Willing To Die For Theirs. Old Story. History Moves On. Winners and Losers. Tell me something I don't know.

YES! I knew our celebration in front of the burning towers wasn't for naught! "We are Israelis. We are not your problem. Your problem is the same as our problem. The Palestinians are your problem."

That was when I was arrested and before I was interrogated and deported by Bush's justice department. To this day I marvel at Americans'ignorance of what really went down that day I flicked my bic for a pic in front of the burning towers while the FDNY tried to put them out.

Little did the poor shmucks know the towers were going to be collapsed on them. Winners, Losers, old story. Long live the spies and lies that help us terrorize!!
CIA Invented Hamas! Really!

Go ahead and ignore people starving and being killed. Ignorance is the key to a failing democracy. Apparently, the United States will cease to have a democracy very soon.

Now I have to look into CIA/Hamas activity. From 9-11 we now know that CIA and alQaeda are two sides of the same coins, so this is not at all surprising.

The peoples of both the US and Israel had better start standing up to these criminals and their fake attacks or there will, quite simply, continue to be murders on all sides.

Punishing Palestinian children for the crimes of Hamas is abhorrent. The US congress would not be doing this if it weren't bought, paid for, and blackmailed by illegal wiretapping. BushCo and its Zionist allies are criminals, period.
