Title says it all.

"Antisemitism" As A Tool Of Israeli Ethnic Cleansing

by Edward S. Herman

November 18, 2002

Palestinians are "Semites," but the word antisemitism is never applied to prejudice against them, only to Jews. The restriction on the application to Jews, and failure to use it in reference to Palestinians, continues in the face of the fact that prejudice against Jews has sharply diminished in the West from the era of Hitler, and that the Arabs have displaced them as target of anti-"Semite" hostility. Thus the usage itself reflects power and deep-seated bias.

Yes, true. Also, didnt the word "arayan" also have some reference to a middle-eastern tribe? (As opposed to being white european godlike figures) ... it is amazing how labels are manipilated.

Heck, the term "zionist" is the name of a religion that some people of African origin follow, but I'm not sure if it has a lot to do with creating and perpetuating a jewish state... I think the word has some other meaning, in this case. (Isn't "zion" a major religious following in South Africa, Ethiopia, and Jamaica? I know they use the word "zion" a lot...)

So too is the word "anti-semitism" being misused. If the term had it's original meaning it would apply to abuse against anyone of arabic origin... jews or non-jews. (Arnt jews some sort of arabic tribe??)

People put "spin" on a lot of their own history, and the most powerful group gets to have reality based on their personal history...

... an example: You would be surprised to learn that the skinhead movement never was about white supremiscy or racism. It was a bunch of working class young people who listened to black music: reggae and ska (Desmond Dekker, Laural Aitkin, Dr. Ring-Ding, etc) ... the skinhead movement started around 1967 and it was 10 years later, in 1977, that the National Front in Britain was able to recruit skinheads to be white nationalist maniacs... and they repeated the lie over and over that skinhead meant "nazi" or "soldier of the 4th reich".. so now people believe it. But in fact there are more non-racist skinheads in the world than racist, nazi ones, and in fact there are many left-wing and anarchist skinheads (SHARP and RASH members) ... and anyone can be a skinhead.. not just macho, nationalistic, white assholes. Just like anyone can be a punk, into hip-hop, rave, grunge, goth, rockabilly, or anything else... nobody owns modern subcultures.
