Are The B-C Greens Legitimate?
06 Oct 2000
Can any other Massachusetts Green Party affiliates confirm the authenticity of the Boston-Cambridge (B-C) Greens?
After the false reports of a supposed general strike, open provocation aimed at the anarchist black bloc, Boston IMC, and other local Greens, and a string of replies that read as if they were written from someone who is certifiably insane with paranoid delusions, all of which have come from someone writing under the auspices of the Boston-Cambridge Greens, I am very interested to hear from other Massachusetts Green Party affiliates as to whether or not the B-C Greens are a legitimate group, and if these questionable posts are indeed written by an empowered representative of this group.

No, they're completely bogus
06 Oct 2000
The "BC Greens" are just two people, Jon Chance and Lisa Williams. They're NOT in the Green Party--my understanding is that they once were but got kicked out a year or two ago. In my non-professional judgement, they appear to be mentally ill--delusional. I feel sorry for them, but all the same their E-mails are both potentially harmful and extremely annoying.

(They ruin lists with their bizzare and overly frequent postings.)

So spread the word--ignore evey message from "B-C Greens".

(I'm an adjunct professor at UMass--I helped organize protest efforts around the debate. I learned about Jon and Lisa is from (actual, reliable) members of the Mass Green Party).
Sincerely,
Larry Kaye
Yes, We're Insane.

Yes, we the Boston-Cambridge Greens are indeed quite insane. Not only that, but we're also rather illigitimate and often politically incorrect,

How about you? Are you sane and legitimate? Are you ineffective, unprovocative and unmindful enough to be sanctioned and professionalized by the status quo?

I won't comment on the sanity of those who use the name "B-C Greens". Nor will I say they are not greens. But I will say that there is no organization by that name, save in cyber-world and in the imagination of one person (possibly two). Other greens have asked for names of people who consider themselves the Boston-Cambridge Greens, and have been refused.

There are, however, a couple of actual green locals in the area. You can find them through the web site below. People should know that if they want to organize a green local in their neighborhood, town, or campus, they are welcome to do so, and we will give them any assistance they might need.
