Join the Summer of Struggle to Bring New Orleans Home
25 May 2006
Modified: 10:46:49 AM
Come to New Orleans this summer to support efforts and take back the city. Help build a political fight that calls for making the rich pay to rebuild New Orleans, the U.S. and the world through a tax on the wealthy, oil companies, and an immediate withdraw from Iraq.
By Any Means Necessary

The current struggle to bring New Orleans public housing residents home is central to the class struggle over the city. On April 4th scores of residents from the St. Bernard housing development, many now living in Houston, returned to reclaim their homes. Instead of being welcomed they were met by a phalanx of housing authority and New Orleans cops who tried--unsuccessfully--to block their return.

The effort to destroy public housing is a key part of the corporate elite’s larger plan. They are using the hurricane as a pretext to destroy all public services that serve working class people and carry out a program of a racial and class cleansing. They want to use New Orleans as a model they can export across the country. The ruling class’ racist plans are being confronted by a growing fight back of which African American working class residents in public housing are at the cutting edge.

Come to New Orleans this summer to support efforts and take back the city. Help build a political fight that calls for making the rich pay to rebuild New Orleans, the U.S. and the world through a tax on the wealthy, oil companies, and an immediate withdraw from Iraq.

Accommodations: For volunteers we have a tent city built in front of the St. Bernard housing development. Bathroom, shower, and cooking facilities will be provided.

It's An Amusement Park

New Orleans is built in an ecologically stupid place below sea level. Its social services and education system were non-functional.

Katrina was a blessing. Shut the city down. It's cheaper than rebuilding a piss pot of a place that will eventually be drowned again.

The French Quarter can be franchised and moved to LA, NY, Orlando and San Antonio.

Hello: Cities don't last forever. Visit some old sites in Turkey or Italy!

Some blessed day Boston will be under 50 feet of water.

Yessir. Chocolate City. It's All Yours. Just don't wanna pay for housing projects and makework jobs for chronocally dependent people who can't seem to live anywhere but in the butt end of a flood-prone Delta.

Drown away my man. Just not on my dime.

Why should the rich pay to rebuild New Orleans. The city was built in a dry lake bed. It was and still is a stupid place for a city. By the way, the rich earned their money. Their money does not belong to you.

Yessir. The Holy Land. Kosher City. It's All Yours. Just don't wanna pay for housing projects and makework jobs for chronically dependent people who can't seem to live anywhere but in the butt end of an oil-rich desert, waiting for G-d to show up and help them take over the world.

antinzi compares the passive simps of New Orleans with the energetic and productive Israelis? The friggin levees wouldn't have busted if the Israeilis ran the city. Israelis know what engineering is. You know, a science of construction that requires some knowledge of Math. Math, the subject that 80% of African Americans regardless of income can't pass in state standardize tests.

New Orleans is the end of the Butt. Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are the Brains.

Oh yes self-satisfied anti-z: the israelis don't live in an oil-rich desert. They meet their energy needs with creativity and detrmination.

They also don't wait for school buses to move them when an Enemy strikes. Jews learned a thousand years ago to take care of their own. What a revolutionary concept. Do without your Nikes so you can contribute somethng to the less fortunate in your community and not depend on outsiders who hate your guts anyway.
