First organized in 2003 & then in 2006, RECLAIM fused poetry, hiphop, rock & visual art that reflected the collective stories of the Filipino youth and our community in the Philippines & in the US. The highly publicized events drew more than 150 & 250 youth & allies on each year. RECLAIM is organized by Filipino American youth & has featured some of the best young Filipino & non-Filipino American spoken word artists, emcees, rock bands & visual artists.

Now, in 2008, RECLAIM 3 will continue the tradition of celebrating the collective history, power and strength of the Filipino American youth through revolutionary art & culture! Join our cultural night of resistance!

His candidacy is seen as an indication that racial barriers no longer exist. Many see progress in the fact that a black man can run a campaign in which race is incidental. Yet it’s taken Obama’s embrace of post-racialism to lend viability to his campaign. Some activists see him as the culmination of a trend of black leaders moving away from the communities they’ve traditionally served and closer to the political and corporate power that dominates the Democratic Party.
