New Bedford Migrant Workers Are Not the Enemy
08 Mar 2007
new_bedford_3_7_07.jpgMassachusetts, March 6, 2007. An army of 300 federal immigration agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has conducted yet another military style raid on migrant workers in the country. This time it was the turn for an East Coast location, New Bedford, Massachusetts where scores of workers were taken away. ICE, a branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security explains that their objective is "to more effectively enforce our immigration and customs laws and to protect the U.S. against terrorist attacks. ICE does this by targeting illegal immigrants: the people, the money and materials that support terrorism and other criminal activities." (From their website "About us" section).

Against capitalist sabotage, take over and occupy the factories!
07 Mar 2007
Throughout the period of the government of President Chávez the people have had to endure with great patience attacks on the gains of the revolution, as the oligarchy, the capitalists, have tried to sabotage and trample on all the initiatives of the people and the President. We need to remember that the bosses' lock-out and the coup of 2002 were initiatives of the Venezuelan businessmen, inspired and organised by imperialism to prevent the revolution moving forward.

Washington No Match For Big Oil
07 Mar 2007
Most of the Democratic and Republican presidential hopefuls are reluctant to challenge big oil, insurance companies, health care providers and many of the big corporations that are driving up inflation because these candidates for president will be relying on the same big corporations to contribute the hundreds of millions necessary for a successful campaign in 2007 and 2008. The Democrats and Republicans are selling America to the highest bidders.

The Sacco and Vanzetti Case Revisited
06 Mar 2007
On August 23, 1927, the State of Massachusetts executed two-Italian born immigrants for their alleged roles in the murders and robbery of a payroll clerk and his security guard on April 15, 1920. The condemned, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, were militant anarchists. A mockery of a fair trial led to their ultimate fate. Professor Deborah Contrada revisits their case and concludes that there was “reasonable doubt, easily” as to their guilt.
