Elections Are Over, Gas Prices Are Up
13 Nov 2006
The 2006 Election results have been posted within the past few days and gasoline prices have already begun to show increases throughout the entire State of California and in some areas prices have increased 10 to 15 cents. Alexander says, “The greatest challenge Americans are facing to stop rising gasoline prices is not being organized to demand lower prices at the pumps. It is unfortunate that America’s one party system is keeping the nation divided on this front to protect the oil giants.”

Republican Meltdown: Election Analysis by Freedom Road Socialist Organization
13 Nov 2006
The midterm elections represented a defeat of historic proportions for the Bush administration. They were a referendum on the war against Iraq. The American people voted ‘no.’ The Republican agenda of racism, inequality and reaction met with a setback. This is a moment to savor. It’s payback time for the politicians who left people to die on freeway overpasses in New Orleans and who are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands in Iraq.

13 Nov 2006
EDSA_Feb24_2006.JPGIt is our patriotic duty to defend the area of freedom that people’s power had carved out in the struggle against the Marcos dictatorship. The best way to defend freedom is to exercise it. Responsible citizens cannot watch in silence as the minions of Mrs. Arroyo make a mockery of our democratic rights.

We do not need any conspiracy theories to know that Globalization and Free Trade is a forced march by elite groupings, governments acting as brokers, trans national corporations and international entities like the WTO. It is also obvious workers have no voice in the process and international entities like the WTO control the flow of trade money outside any real democratic process

In 1974, Elizabeth Holtzman, then a Congresswoman from New York City, served on the House’s Judiciary Committee, which drafted Impeachment charges against then-President, Richard M. Nixon. Deval Patrick and the NAACP: Will they stand strong?
11 Nov 2006
As a former New England area NAACP Legal Chair, I read with great interest that Boston NAACP President Leonard (Lenny) C. Alkins is quoted in the Metro recently as saying:

"We are proud of the fact that [Deval Patrick] is African-American, and we do not make any apologies for that."

Sound pretty strong. However, what I discovered is that the NAACP -- the nation's premier Civil Rights organization -- has materially altered its Mission Statement as noted herein. Significantly, they have deleted any talk about "informing the public" and "taking lawful action to eliminate unlawful discrimination."

You can read anothe excerpt from my recent blawg entry below, or just skip to the blawg from this link; also there are movies that highlight some of these issues at the related links; don't hesitate to email me if you have questions because there is a WHOLE LOT going on here.
