Disaster has a name: capitalism |

The capitalist class can’t do it—they’ve proved that. Workers’ organizations need to lay out the agenda for profound social change. Most of all, this has to happen in the United States, where the reactionary, racist, super-rich few are holding back the revolutionary changes needed by all the peoples of the world. |

There are times that I wish that I could wish everything away. Other times, I want to stand naked in front of the entire nation to force them to see what they've done to me. I want people to know what war really is.

The collapse of public health care through decades of deliberate neglect in the U.S. makes the country as vulnerable to a flu pandemic as any bottom tier third world country, and it may be too late to do anything about that. |

Nonproliferation and Disarmament, The Way Forward |
by The Institute for Defense and Disarmament hoey (nospam) idds.org (unverified) |

The Bush Administration has recently taken new steps that increase the danger of nuclear war. In addition to blocking progress on arms control, the administration has persisted in developing a nuclear "bunker buster." Equally horrifying, administration officials have been talking more openly about plans to actually use such weapons in third world countries. In effect, the US message on nuclear nonproliferation is: Do as we say, not as we do.
Against this backdrop, more than 30 leaders of national antinuclear efforts, from the founders of the Nuclear Weapon Freeze Campaign in 1980 to today's most effective advocates, are gathering on the MIT campus in Cambridge MA for a major event on Friday-Saturday, 21-22 October: NONPROLIFERATION AND DISARMAMENT: THE WAY FORWARD.
Please go to http://idds.org to register. In addition, we would be grateful if you would forward this information via email to your friends and contacts.
Speakers include: Congressman Edward Markey, Dr. Helen Caldicott, William Sloan Coffin and many, many more. We hope you will consider coming and joining us in getting the word out.
Thank you |

The Hate Bill, Senate number S.1145, if passed will bring TYRANNY to America. President Bush (reacting to Mrs. Mier’s nomination) had the audacity to say, it matters not what the American people think, it matters what Congress does. Please cut and past this letter and send it to your Senators. A closer look at the Bill shows it would end political dissent, and makes jail a possibility for others with different religious beliefs. |
